Luna groaned. She didn't particularly favor the beach, although Leafy, Sil, and Dice seemed to love it. Brrr, Glint, and Tito shared her view, but she gave in for her friends' sake. Besides, she didn't want to listen to another one of Brrr's (or even worse, Quesa's) dull lectures about writing. So here she was on a trip with only about five hundred other students.
"Aw, come in, everyone!" Cherry grinned. "The water feels nice!" The fox stepped into the water and began swimming.
"Please, Luna," Sil said. "It would make me happy."
With a final groan, Luna got up and strides into the cold water that stuck her fur together and weighed it down. She swam over to Cherry and began talking to the fox. It was only after a few minutes that Luna realized that "Cherry"' s left eye had a scar across it, while she had noticed before that Cherry's scar was actually on her right eye. "What's your scar from?" Luna asked. "You're not Cherry, are you... you're her cousin. Sky!"
Sky winked. A dark shape was beginning to form from her back. "Dear, it's short for Scylla."
"What do you want, creature?" Luna tried going back to shore but found she was slowly being dragged towards Scylla.
"I want to eat your heart and eat the hearts of your five closest friends." Scylla turned black and both her irises and pupils rolled into her head. Her head morphed into six heads, each smiling viciously. "Good bye, wolf," Scylla said from a head next to Luna. Another head opened its jaws, and Luna closed her eyes.
The sudden gasp of air from Scylla made Luna open her eyes again. A giant Seadragon was fighting with the monster. "That was my meal!" Protested Scylla. Luna swam toward the beach, where as she approached she could see Sil and Leafy sleeping on the beach. Turning around, both sea creatures had vanished.
