[Junghwan POV] A vintage house, with tall windows and a huge terrace on the second floor. A tune starts to sound. A piano. I don't know that tune, but it hypnotizes me, it lures me in.
"Happy birthday, Dobby."
[SO JUNGHWAN X KIM DOYOUNG]
I open the door to my bedroom, and I'm welcomed by an utter chaos. My bed's at the left, at my right there's my desk and closet. And right in the middle, boxes, boxes and more boxes. The window, right across the room, shows the sky making fun of me: it's raining non-stop. Mom has told me I have to unbox all of my stuff. Considering there's nothing else for me to do (going out and get familiar with my new neighborhood is a total no since I'll definitely catch a flu in this weather), I close the door behind me, ready to get to work.
But I'm actually tired. And bored. More than unpacking, I only feel like lying on my bed, doing nothing.
So, instead of opening these boxes and checking their contents, I just take them out of the mattress and pile them up at the floor. I then lay down, and look at the window, where there are raindrops hitting the glass, and sliding down. Some of them are faster than others. Some of them hit each other and combine, producing a bigger droplet that hurries down, faster than the rest.
"Junghwan." My mom's voice, getting closer, makes me jump out of the bed. "Are you unboxing?"
"Yes, mom." I lie, and just if she decides to peek, I open a couple of boxes, and start checking their contents.
My mom steps walk away. Probably towards her bedroom, or maybe back downstairs, where she has a lot to unbox too. At the end, I decide to follow her instructions is the best I can do. The mattress is rough, and if I'm planning on sleeping well tonight, my best option is to look for the bedsheets and make the bed.
In the end, I end up opening half of the boxes, before finding what I was looking for. The mattress is finally dressed, the pillows have their pillowcases, and I even found some plushies and cushions to decorate. But the rest of the bedroom looks like a battlefield. Opened boxes, with their contents completely turned. I took out some stuff, but to be honest, nothing's in their rightful place. Some things are in the floor, some on top of the other boxes. I'm back at the bed, which is now much softer and comfortable.
It's not raining anymore, but it's still cloudy. I press my face against the window, and try to look outside, expecting to see a panorama of my new neighborhood, in Seoul suburbs. But my window isn't facing at the street, and now I'm looking at my neighbors' backyard. It's full of flowers and bushes and trees. There are sidewalks, benches and a water fountain, all made of a grayish stone, and I also manage to see some sculptures than I guess are marble. It kinda reminds me of The Secret Garden, one of my mom's favorite movies. She has made me sit with her and watch it at least three times, but besides the beautiful garden, I honestly can't remember anything of the plot.
I see my neighbor's house at the other side of the garden. It has some kind of vintage vibe. Kinda old. There's a huge terrace in the second floor, and all the windows that open to said terrace are currently closed, 'cause of the rain. I'm trying to imagine what kind of people live there. Probably aristocrats who belong to another time, or a little princess who lives in her own fairy tale, when my mom calls me, saying it's dinner time.
And so, I finally walk out of my chaotic bedroom. To be honest, I'm starving.

All chapters are gonna be written from Hwanie's POV, follow a diary-entry format, and are gonna be quite short, so I'll be uploading twice a week. With this said, see you on friday :p
