I'm sitting at my desk, doing my homework, when I hear it. The piano.
But this time, it's not an unknown melody. I've heard it before! If I could only remember the name... The only thing I know is that I like it. I hear the first notes with a happy heart, and then the tune continues and I hear new notes I've never heard before... Then the melody calms down, the first notes are heard again, but soon evolve to a new section, and then everything starts over again, and I can't help but be amazed at the idea that, finally, I've heard this melody fully.
I got no idea why, but I'm so excited. I can no longer focus on my homework. The only thing I know is I don't want the melody to end. I push my chair next to the window, and I can see Kim Doyoung sitting in the terrace, in the stool in front of the grand piano. From over here I'm pretty sure he'll be unable to hear me. Much less see me, so, not knowing why, I stand up, walk out my bedroom, out of my house, and basically running down the street, I finally stop in front of the Kim residence.
Still not knowing why am I doing that, I ring the doorbell, and wait.
A woman opens the door. She's a little short, slim, with sharp face features, and black hair. I think she must be his mother. A little nervous, I stutter when I say:
"Is Kim Doyoung at home?"
The lady looks at me, visibly confused. I'm pretty sure if I say "I'm a friend from school" she wouldn't believe me. After all, Kim Doyoung doesn't speak to anybody, right? At school he's basically invisible. I wonder if Ms. Kim is aware his kid's being bullied.
But then, before I can come up with an excuse of who am I and how do I know his son, Ms. Kim steps aside, and lets me come inside, as she says:
"He's at the second floor terrace."
She closes the door behind me, and guides me upstairs. We walk inside what I assume is his bedroom, and walk pass it, heading to the terrace.
"Dobby..." says Ms. Kim, which makes Kim Doyoung to stop playing, and turn around to see. "You got a visit."
He looks at me. Visibly confused. Probably asking himself what am I doing here. How did I even get here. But he doesn't say a word, and just nods, and so his mom then walks back inside the house, leaving us both alone.
Kim Doyoung is about to say something, when I hurry up and say:
"Can you play it again?" I point the piano with my head. "Please?" I hurry to add, trying to sound polite. "Whatever you were playing, can you play it again?"
"Für Elise: Bagatelle in A minor WoO 59, by Ludwig van Beethoven."
I stand there, unable to understand what he just had said. He then sighs deeply, as if he just can't believe I'm such an ignorant, and repeats himself:
"Für Elise, by Beethoven."
I shrug my shoulders, slightly embarrassed for being an idiot and not knowing the name of the piece, or the composer. Trying to imitate his foreign accent, y hurry and correct myself.
"Can you play Für Elise, by Beethoven, once again? Please?"
Approximately three seconds later, Kim Doyoung turns in order to face the piano, and two seconds later, the melody starts again.
I'm so sorry I didn't upload on monday. It's been a hectic week. Probably the next ones will be the same, but I'll do my best to keep on with the schedule.
Some chapters will have the video/audio of the classical pieces Dobby will be performing. Hope you like them.
