These past two weeks have been quite confusing. One day, Doyoung is at school, eating lunch with me, and the next day he's nowhere to be seen. One afternoon I'm at his bedroom, doing homework as I listen to him playing the piano, and the next one his mother tells me he's just too tired, needs to sleep, and doesn't let me go in.

Something is happening, and he's not telling me.

Today, I haven't seen him at school. I'm in my bedroom, facing the fact that this afternoon I'll have to do my homework here, when I randomly get up, and decide to go to his place. Even if Ms. Kim tells me to leave and come back tomorrow, it's worth a shot.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Kim." I say as always, as soon as she opens the door.

She smiles at me, a sad smile.

"Dobby's upstairs." She says, but she soon adds. "Try not to wake him up."

As I go upstairs, I can't help but feel confused.

I walk inside his bedroom, trying to not make a sound. Still, as soon as I close the door behind me, I can see Doyoung's not asleep, since he whispers:

"You came."

I don't reply. Not because I don't want to, but because I don't know what to say. Doyoung's lying in bed, covered in satin blankets, but he slowly takes out his arm, and signs me to get close to him. I end up sitting in the bed end, my backpack on the floor.

"Now that you're here, I wanted to ask you something."

"Is this a yes or no type of question?" I ask, trying to lighten the mood. "Do I have to say yes to everything you ask?"

Doyoung giggles.

"No. I just wanted to ask you when's your birthday. I was thinking I should gift you something."

I can't help but look at him, visibly surprised. This obviously sick kid, is this the same one that hasn't make a friend in years, and tries not to get close to anyone?

"Ah, February 18th." I answer, but despite still being shocked, I hurry and ask back. "What about yours?"

"December 4th."

"Hey-" I say, quite annoyed. "That's in two days!"

"There's no need for you to gift me anything."

But I quickly say no.

"I need ideas. Give me ideas! What else do you like besides playing the piano?" I look around me, there must be some kind of clues in his bedroom. My room is full of anime posters, and League of Legends and Overwatch collectible figures. And even if it wasn't like that, he knows what I like since I've talked about it before.

But, to be honest, Doyoung hasn't share much about himself, so my only option is to look around, scanning the whole place, looking for clues. There must be something here in this bedroom that can give me some ideas about what he likes...

"Ilike... the piano." Is all he says. "That's what makes me happy."

Was Dobby about to say "I like you" or that's just me feeding the delulu in us?
