Part 18~Hawks

The weekend arrived, and the students had a day off- well, some of them did. Uzu was not one of them.

He was rushing out, passing Naka, Todoroki and Bakugo on their way to the remedial course.

"Sorry. Already late." Uzu rushed off as Bakugo screamed at him for bumping into his shoulder.

Uzu wasn't sure whether he was excited or dreading the day. Though Hawks said he would take in Uzu, he wanted to see how far Uzu had come since their last meeting. Uzu had no idea what to expect, but this was not it.

"What's going on?"

Hawk chuckled, standing up with a chicken on his head. "Yo, Uzu, about time."

"I'm so sorry about this!" The girl rushed about, trying to collect her chickens. "They don't usually disobey me. Maybe it's because of your Quirk- Roasted. I swear if you peck that man one more time, I'm making you into nuggets."

Uzu blinked, stepping closer to Hawks. "What's going on?"

"Oh, nothing. I met this hero on my morning patrol, and for some reason, her chickens began following me."

Uzu narrowed his eyes, glancing over the lady. "Hey, I know you. You're Ectoplasm's sidekick."

The hero stood up, three chickens in her arms. "The name is Chicken."

"Uzu. I heard you annoyed my friend."

"Your friend?"

"Naka. He interned at Ectoplasm's agency."

Chicken's eyes lit up as she clapped her hands together, dropping the chickens she was holding. "Yes! How is Arsen. I was going to contact him about working at the agency, but then we had to have a track record, so I wasn't allowed."

Uzu frowned. "I thought Ectoplasm's agency had a record?"

"Oh- well, yes, but I don't work there anymore. My grandfather recently passed, and as the sole inheritor, I was able to set up my own agency. It's pretty small right now, but I'm hoping it'll start picking up attention."

"Well, good luck, but you should know Naka didn't get his hero licence, so even if you could, you wouldn't be able to work with him."

Chicken frowned, a confused look on her face. "He didn't pass? But his Quirk is really strong and versatile."

"Yeah, guess he was having a bad day."

Chicken nodded, though she still didn't look happy. "You know what, I'll give him a call later. He can use my training hall anytime. It's specially designed to be explosion resistant." Chicken grinned at the idea as she picked a chicken off Hawk's shoulder. "I'll leave you be. Goodbye, Hawks, goodbye, Uzu." Chicken turned and rushed away, not noticing one chicken cheering in success from behind the building.

Hawks waited for Chicken to leave before he turned to Uzu. "Is she a good hero?"

Uzu shrugged. "I don't know, but my friend seemed to like her."

"Alright. I'll remember her. Now, onto your test." Hawks patted Uzu's shoulder as he took a deep breath.

"Hell yeah! I have improved so much!"

"How about you show me rather than tell?"

Uzu grinned, following behind Hawks as they discussed the Hero Work.

"You found an agency for your work-study? Congratulations, Deku." Uraraka cheered as Midoriya sat opposite her, looking almost exhausted.

The others congratulated him as Iida spoke up. "You're an example to us all."

"I dunno how the rest of us are supposed to compete, though," Karminari complained as he walked into the room.
