030 - The plan

"Are you sure about this?" I asked Mitch for the fifteenth time. Mitch nodded and squeezed my hand tighter. "Okay, let's do this then" I said with a deep exhale.

I nodded to Oliver who stepped out of his car, we followed suit and the three of us walked up to the Warner mansion. Mitch hesitated for a second but pulled the doors open, his hand didn't let go of mine, he only tightened his hold.

"I can't believe I never knew," Oliver grumbled in anger. I glanced at the two boys and bit my lip. "Right, everyone remember–calm your shit. Wait for the right moment, okay?" I said and both nodded.

As I was about to step inside, Mitch pulled me back. "Wait–there's something I need to do before we go in," He said. Oliver turned his back to us to give us some sort of privacy.

"Okay" I said unsure. Mitch pulled me closer and slammed his lips onto mine, I responded instantly, I kissed him back softly, I gently caressed his cheek as he slightly deepened the kiss.

When he felt ready, we pulled away for air, his forehead leaned against mine as he took deep breaths to calm himself. I knew he was about to run for his life, but he needed this.

"Okay" Mitch said and I gave him a small smile before pecking his lips quickly and then I pulled away and waited for him to take the lead. He took another deep breath and walked in, Oliver and I behind him, Oliver to his left and me to his right.

He pushed the doors open to what seemed like a ball room, three adults turned to the three of us. Mitch's mother Catherine looked relieved and took a step towards him, but the new face who I assumed was Mitch's father, stopped her.

"Mitch, you're home" He said with a weary tone. "Fuck the kid, we have papers to sign" Thomas snarled and slammed his hand onto the papers scattered on the huge dining table.

"No" Mitch spoke out. "Oh–I'm sorry, did you say something Mitch?" Thomas retorted with a cackle. I clenched my jaw a little at the cheap shot, even Mitch's father looked unimpressed.

"Turn yourself in" Mitch said, he looked unsure and weary. Catherine looked back and forth before backing up a little. "I'm not gonna live with a killer, a con man or a thief. Do what's best and turn yourselves in. Both of you, you've caused enough harm" Mitch said.

For each word he said, he grew stronger and spoke louder. "You don't know a thing, boy. Walk away, otherwise–""--Otherwise what?" I challenged, I glared at Thomas and he glared at me.

"You're all fools. You–got a second chance, you got a chance to make things right, yet you go and fuck it all up–and you–you're psychotic, forcing Mitch to never speak a word, forcing him to be mute–you deserve to be rotting up in jail" I half shouted.

My words hit Mitch's father, though when I mentioned what Thomas had forced Mitch to do, he turned to him with newfound anger.

"You–forced my son–to go mute?" He snarled. Mitch looked at me unsure of the situation, he slipped his hand into mine and squeezed it.

"You said it was from the trauma of the accident" Catherine gasped, tears pricked in her eyes and she put her hand on her heart. "All the times I tried to make him talk to me–it was because of you?" Catherine said and shouted the last bit with fury.

Mitch's father grew just as vicious. "I needed him to stay quiet, so that the company was unharmed–I needed him to sign it over!" Thomas shouted.

"The girl is right–we're all fools. Because we listened to you" Mitch's father snarled. "You little bitch–" Thomas stepped towards me, but Mitch stepped forward and blocked me.
