Kai felt the steam rise from his ears. The sensation of the rock melting beneath his feet. He shouldn't have told Jay.  Why did he even talk about it now?!
He felt his face melt as Jay begins to giggle.
    Kai grumbles.
Jay notices and tries to stop himself from grinning. "I'm sorry, it's just that now that you say, it it makes so much sense."
     "Huh??"
"C'mon think about it. Before Lloyd left you were the only one who became so... protective of him."
      Kai raises an eyebrow.
"Okay, remember how you got the scar? You-"
"I picked a fight with Morro. I remember."
Jay smirked "And why did you pick a fight with Morro."
     "Because he made Lloyd cry..."
Kai rolls his eyes, "Jay I get it... I was so obvious." He shakes his hands mockingly.
      Kai huffs.
Jays smile fades. "Was?" He halts, "You still... are?"
Now that Jay thinks about it, Kai was the only one who didn't react much when Lloyd left. Then when he came back Kai has been... silent.
"Kai do you want to talk about it?"
"About what?"
"About Lloyd."
Kai stops. "What about you?"
"Huh?"
"I was there, I saw how you reacted to Lloyd leaving."
Jay goes back to walking. He shouldn't have bothered Kai. "Jay?"
"I won't deny it. It hurt."
Lloyd was the first person to understand Jay. To feel different. Even though Jay wasn't the son of an evil overlord, like Lloyd, he still felt out of place. He didn't think the same as everyone. Thoughts as fast as lighting... heh.  If he was smarter than everyone he was considered too nerdy. If he expressed interest to much he was seen as weird.
And things, things become too much for him sometimes. Too loud or too much to bare, even if it was so simple.
Lloyd understood that. When things became overwhelming, Lloyd would take him to a quiet area and just sit there. Complete silence, either it was couple minutes or hours, Lloyd didn't speak, didn't move, didn't budge. He just closed his eyes and took a breath led in and out. He would stay like that and let Jay follow. Breathe in and out until Jay calmed down and they could go back to what they were doing.
Then he left, without even a goodbye, and things became too much again. Cole and Nya tried to help, but they didn't understand like Lloyd did.
Does he still do? There's something so different about him now and he still hasn't told them what happened the past four years.  All they know is that there these people that called themselves the Sons of Garmadon and their trying to... to uh... bad stuff?
Okay Lloyd hasn't explained that part yet.
"But he's back now isn't he? So everything is going to be okay."
Kai follows Jay. Sure he's back. Back with trouble. And they're just following him without a doubt or reason.
            Just like before.
But it isn't... everything has changed.
            Is the change... bad?
