The Ninja That Changed

Chapter 8

    "Why are we here again?" I ask, sneezing after.
    Kai told everyone to meet at the abandoned warehouse. Well the old warehouse we use to train and build our mechs in. I call it abandoned because we haven't used in like six years. I sneeze again. Jeez, don't people normally clean these places? It's so dusty.
    "Are you alright Nya?" Jay big hazel eyes look at me with concern.
"Yeah, it's just a little dusty in here." I assure him with smile.
I can tell he doesn't believe me, I can see it in that adorable face of his and he knows it too. He reaches in his pocket and grabs a small pouch of napkins he reaches in and hands me one.
"H-here."
"Thanks."
Kai clears his throat "Okay so you guys are wondering why I brought you here," He coughs "well I talked to Lloyd and-"
"There's something all of you need to know."
That voice, I tilt my head in the direction of the source. It's Lloyd.

    "L-loyd?" Jay eyes widened "Wait, how do we know it's really you? Say something only he would know."
     Lloyd chuckled "Jay do you remember when we were little kids I gave you a plushie for your birthday, Mr. CuddlyWomp?"
    Jay smiled "Okay your the real Lloyd." He ran towards Lloyd wrapping his arms around him into a hug. Lloyd hugs back.
    I was frustrated. How can Jay hug him right now? "Can we get to explanation part, please." I grumbled, there better be a good reason we're here.
    Jay and Lloyd let go of each other "Right." Lloyd walks next to Kai as all of us gather around the two. "First I'll tell you why I left."
    "My father told me that being evil wasn't a choice for him. That the snake that bit him wasn't ordinary. It was a snake called the Great Devour, a snake that Wu and Dad both fought decades ago." Lloyd sighed "When I was born parts of that venom went into me, it didn't start effecting me until four years ago."
     My eyes widened "What?"
     "The reason why I didn't tell you or say goodbye was because my uncle said I couldn't.   That only being around all of you would worsen the effects." Lloyd hung his head down, squeezing his arm tightly "I'm sorry this happened but if I stayed I could of hurt any of you."
      Empathy washed over me, he was just trying to protect us. I'm such an idiot, why didn't I think of that? Why did I just blame him randomly without any reason? I sighed I really am a bad friend.
     Cole walked up to Lloyd, embracing him "There's no need to apologize. You did the right thing."
     Cole griped onto Lloyd's shoulders "However can you explain something to me?" Lloyd nodded "Two days ago, at school. Why were you chasing someone?"
     "That's what I'm here to tell you about." Cole backed up to let Lloyd explain.
     "That 'man' wasn't actually a person, he was a spy for a very strong species. The Oni."
    Zane took a step forward "The Oni is a Japanese folklore. Demonic ogres that are also known as beings of Destruction."
    "Well they don't sound very nice." Jay quivers.
    "That's because they aren't, they live for power and when they want something they will take it by force."
"But Cole sai-" As I was speaking a female android walked onto my field of vision.
"The Oni have many abilities, one being shape shifting."
The android in front of us look exactly like the one Jay showed us. The silver skin and hair, the purple wires, the glowing green eyes. Jay was right it is P.I.X.A.L. Kai places his hand on Lloyd's shoulder, Lloyd turns around in Kai's direction.
"Not that I don't trust you, but how do you know all of this?"
Anger rose back in me when Lloyd hesitated to speak. He's keeping something from us and I don't like it.
I felt P.I.X.A.Ls eyes as she answers Kai's question. "I am sorry Kai Smith, but Wu gave Lloyd and I strict orders to not tell you."
"Are you serious?!"
"I do not understand your question?"
I clenched my jaw and my fists. I do not like her.
    "I-He-Ugh!"
   "Nya, Wait!"
