The Ninja That Changed

Chapter 5

    First day of school and I already blew it!
    Lloyd flopped his body onto his new bed, barring his head in one of the pillows. He groans in frustration as he rolled his back on the bed. He sits there staring at ceiling for a couple seconds before smacking himself in the face. "Cut it out Lloyd! You can fantasize later," Lloyd glides his legs to the edge of the bed "first priority is finding that spy."
     He stretch's before grabbing a  communicator and placing it in his ear.
    "Come in Pixal." Lloyd locks the entrance  door before walking down to the main campus.
    "This is Pixal, have you reached Ninjago City?"
    "Yes, please scan for undetected life forces." Lloyd whispers, lowering his eyes not making any eye contact with the other students.
    "Scanning."
Lloyd slowly rolls up one of his sleeves just a bit, revealing a sliver bracelet with a green orb in the middle. The orb glows as he walks towards the courtyard.

In the courtyard on one of the benches shows Cole listening to music. Cole came to the courtyard to clear his head. A couple of minutes ago Kai had just told Cole what happened in first period. He doesn't know what to think. Lloyd comes back with a whole different look and it makes you question if it was even Lloyd that Kai was talking about.
    He didn't want to believe it, but there's been a certain question in the back of his head. What if Lloyd became like his father? He knows it's a stupid question to ask, yet it's been haunting him.
Garmadon said he turned evil because of snake venom, it's possible that the venom could affect Lloyd too.
    Cole groaned, he was talking nonsense! Lloyd would never be like him.
     Would he?
     "Is that Lloyd?" A girl mumbled to herself, but was loud enough for him to hear.
    Cole striped off his headphones. Lloyd, Lloyd was standing right there. Kai was right, he does look different.
Cole knew that people are aloud to where what ever they want to, and he shouldn't be judging on appearances. However for as long as he knew Lloyd, there is one thing that they figured about him since day one. Anxiety, Lloyd has heightened anxiety. If the teenager right in front of him was Lloyd then the boy he knew would be incredibly anxious right now. He would be hugging his body, hiding from anyone who walks by. It's one of the reasons Lloyd normally wore his green hoodie, it gave him access to hide himself from people stares. That's why it's so shocking to see him this way. Yeah he's wearing a Jacket, but it's a jean jacket. People normally where them to be in style, and Lloyd hates public attention.
"Kai must have been imagining things, that can't be Lloyd." Cole said, not talking to anyone in particular.
Cole decided to wait a little while before going up to the boy. He was still unsure of the situation and didn't want to cause any drama with Kai's wild accusation. As he observed the boy he began to notice how alert the blonde was being. He found it rather odd.
Lloyd may be the anxious type but the only person on our group who is that alert is Jay.
Cole noticed "Lloyd" leaving a decided to follow him.
He knows he shouldn't but something in his gut tells him that somethings off.
As he followed the blonde he notices a odd looking bracelet around his wrist. "A tracker?"
Cole has seen that before, Nya brought it up when they were first building their mechs. She said if one of us got lost we could use them to locate the other. The last time he and the others used those things was during the Meowtrah attack five years ago, and even then they were completely useless.
Even if this was Lloyd why would he be using one now? Who is he looking for?
"Do you see them anywhere?" The blonde asked, pressing a small grey ear piece against his ear drum.
That's a communicator, and that's Lloyd's voice! The boy really is him, but who is he talking to? I need to get closer.
Cole increased his speed, catching up on Lloyd. Just as he got closer Lloyd began running.
Oh you got to be kidding me!
    Cole didn't want to cause a scene, but he had no choice. He ran after Lloyd trying his best to catch up, however Cole hasn't exercised in three years so his once really strong and fast legs are now nonexistent. Lloyd on the other hand became really fast. So fast that Cole can barely keep in line with him!
    "Where is he even going?" Cole answered his own question when he noticed a guy in front of Lloyd. He was running like the other two teenagers, only he kept looking back at Lloyd. Is was not hard for Cole to notice that Lloyd was chasing this guy. There's absolute terror on his face! Lloyd was smirking now as he reaches his arm out for the guy as he got closer and closer.
No he can't be, Lloyd would never... Would he?
    Cole was unsure if Lloyd was really evil or not, but ether way he new he had to do something. He bent his knees farther down causing a dent in the ground. He leaped for ward, his speed increasing tremendously! He moves his body side ways as he wrapped an arm around Lloyd's neck. After getting him unbalanced he shifts his weight making it so that when they fall he would be right on top of Lloyd.
    "What the-" Cole cuts him off by slamming his whole body on to the concrete floor Lloyd growls as watches his prey get away.
"Dang it!" Lloyd loosens his body so who ever had pinned him down will let go. Cole gets off of Lloyd.
Lloyd's eyes widen as he sees a familiar chocolate skinned, jet black haired, music loving earth ninja right in front of him glaring at the blonde "Cole, why did you?"
"You were chasing an innocent man." Cole sneered anger at Lloyd's idiotic question.
Lloyd's brows tilted "Innocent!"
"Do you even know what's going on?!"
Cole took a step back, Lloyd's eye were bright red. Lloyd felt the anger in his eyes and took a deep breath, the red turned back to green.
Before one out of two could speak the school bell rings "I have to go."
Lloyd walks off leaving an utterly confused Cole in the middle of the courtyard.
