The Ninja That Changed

Chapter 7

"Did you figure out why he was chasing him?" Nya asks.
Cole had just told the others what happened back at the court yard. They are all sitting around Jays room, bickering among theirselves.
"No, the bell rang before I could get any answers." Cole hunched over, his elbows fitting on top of his spread out legs, hanging from Jays bedside.
"You said he was talking to someone, do you know who?"
"It was someone named Pixal."
Jay jumps up from his seat "Did they sound like a robot?"
"Yeah..."
Jay runs to his laptop, aggressively typing on his keyboard.
"What are you looking at?" Kai raises an eyebrow unfamiliar with Jays antics.
"This!" Jay holds up his Laptop, a website of Cyrus Industries shown through the screen. At the page he was at was a female looking robot in a purple robe, the title saying P.I.X.A.L with the description P.I.X.A.L. (Primary Interactive X-ternal Assistant Life-form) a female android created by Cyrus Borg to serve as an assistant.
    "You think she's the one Lloyd was talking to?" Kai asked, a hint of jealousy in his voice, but he doesn't know why.
    "Cole said that Lloyd was talking to a girl with a robotic voice and that her name was Pixal, right?" Jay sets down his laptop "Who else would have a robotic voice? Pixal! You know why? because she's an android!" The blue ninja flailed his arms into the air slightly annoyed that his friends are doubting him.
    Nya crossed her arms"Okay... if it is her, how would Lloyd even be in contact with her?"
    "Lloyd's the green ninja, it's not impossible." Zane states.
    "Why though?"
    Zane opened his mouth to say something, but not even him has all the answers. He looks to the ground in defeat, the others joining his doubts seconds later.
What was Lloyd up to?
    That was the only question going through everyone's heads, yet no one answered. All of them were about to give up, until Kai had an idea.
    "I can just ask him." The ninja blinked at the fire dork "I'm serious, I have the same class as him and he sits right next to me, It's perfect!"
    The group weren't so sure about this, especially since this was Kai they were talking about. He doesn't know the meaning of stealth. However they didn't have any other options, so they agreed and prayed that Kai wouldn't be an idiot.
     "I have a feeling this won't end well."
__________The Next Day__________

Kai was in fourth period now and there's only ten more minutes of class. Kai had to make a move. It's now or never he thought to himself. Kai took one last breath before taping Lloyd on the shoulder.
"Hey Lloyd, it's been a while since we've talked. How's life?" Kai forced a smile, his palms drenched in sweat. How's life??? Seriously me!
"I-Its ok-a-ay?" Lloyd was also nervous, he haven't talked to his friends in years. Not to mention a little confused at Kai's behavior, he was expecting a little more anger in his voice.
An awkward silence fell upon the two, both faces blushing in embarrassment.
Lloyd cleared his throat. He wanted to reconnect with Kai. He loved the brunette for a long time, he wasn't going to give him up that easily "H-how are you an-d-d the others doi-ing?
    "Others are okay... n-nothing's changed between us! Heh.."
    "Speaking of change, wanna tell me about this?" Kai swirls his finger in a circler motion pointing at Lloyd.
    Lloyd took the time to observe Kai's behavior. He noticed the sweat trickling down his face and became curious on what he was nervous about. Lloyd knew Kai since elementary school and Kai never got nervous. Sure he'd panic from time to time, but stutter and sweat, not his style. Lloyd's emerald green eyes began to glow, It was the same glow Zane used when scanning an object. Thankfully Kai didn't notice as Lloyd's eye went back to normal. He's hiding something Lloyd thought.
     "Cole told you what happened yesterday, didn't he?"
    Kai froze, how did...? The sweat around his face increase "W-what?! I have no-"
    "Kai."
    Kai sighed, he can see the determination in Lloyd's eyes "Yes, he told me."
    That awkward silence returned as Lloyd looked to ground lost in thought. They're my team mates, I can't hide this from them.
    Lloyd reaches to Kai's shoulder. The two make eye contact. Lloyd's emerald eyes staring deep into Kai's amber ones.
   
    "There's something I need to tell you."
