"HM. So, that's what happened."

Biting my lower lip, I cast my head down and gave Mikey a silent nod. I brought him inside my house and we talked about the events from earlier. I was done filling him in with all the crucial details he needed to know regarding my encounter with this so-called Valhalla.

"And it was Kazutora who brought you to their turf. Along with Takemitchy to act as Baji's witnesses."

I nodded again.

Mikey let out a deep sigh. "This is more serious than I thought," he muttered. "I can't believe Baji would betray Toman to side with Kazutora. It's pointless to bring him back now when he's this decisive."

My heart was wretched with guilt whenever I remembered Chifuyu's body all battered and bruised while getting beaten up by someone he considered his closest friend. And then, there was Hanemiya to think about. "I'm sorry for Hanemiya-kun, Mikey. I should've told you about him sooner," I said regretfully. Based on Baji's story, Hanemiya turned out to be a co-founder of Toman and also an old acquaintance of Mikey before he accidentally killed the blonde's older brother.

Mikey motioned his hand to lift my chin and make me look into his pitch-black eyes. He was shaking his head. "Don't say that, Y/N. I'm just glad those guys didn't do anything to you." His gentle features were soon clouded over with open hostility. "Or I would never forgive any of them for touching you."

For a moment, I was a bit taken aback by how dangerously dark his face was making as if he switched to another person. Mikey's shift in demeanor could be terrifying sometimes. I reached out for his hand and tried to lighten up his dark mood. "Mikey, it doesn't matter. Give it a rest. As you can see, nothing happened to me, right?"

His grim expression gradually softened and firmly grasped my hand. "I just don't want to see you get hurt, Y/N. They know how important you are to me. You are my weakness. Hurting you means hurting me as well."

His words caressed a delicate piece of my fragile heart, making me feel complicated. I didn't know what to say. "Mikey..."

Eyes fixed on his, I could clearly see my own reflection in them. Mikey was gazing at me with great fondness as if he was adoring a beautiful goddess. He drew closer and rubbed our noses together, making me giggle.

Mikey was smiling lovingly at me. He pecked the tip of my nose and then captured my lips with his. I closed my eyes and threw my arms around his neck, accepting his warm kiss just as eagerly.

The sound of our lips smacking and the rhythm of our synchronized breaths made me almost lose control of myself as a whirlpool of emotions surged through my veins and into the depths of my heart. I felt his hands move down to the curvature of my hips and grip them tightly. He tugged me closer to him as the kiss grew more passionate with our bodies melting against each other's embrace.
