Waiting for a phone call seemed to take forever. Watching the phone, waiting for her name to flash up on my screen to finally be able to hear her voice again. Staring the clock on the kitchen wall that reads the wrong time.
Well , wrong time for Australia anyway. I have it set to American time so I can line up our schedules to be able to speak to h-
*phone vibrates*
"Hey Gorgeous, how are you" I ask her with the brightest grin.
"Hey darling, I'm okay , I miss you" she says in the groggiest of morning voices.
She looks so pretty even with her hair dishevelled, her retainer in , crust in her eyes and her voice deeper than Barry white. I wish nothing more than to be in her arms, with a cup of warm coffee to soothe our souls.
"And then I- BABE are you even listening?" She asks.
Fuck- I haven't heard a word she's just said. I was too busy fantasising our future life together. One where I can wake up with her in my arms.
"I'm sorry Kay , what were you saying? The connection cut out " I quickly cover my tracks with a white lie , even though my cheeks feel like there burning up with embarrassment , she caught me admiring her.
" Oh I was just saying how I've booked a flight to come down to Australia" she said with such a straight face.
" HUH. SORRY. BABY. When? How? Where? How soon?" I swarm her with questions, how is that the sentence I managed to zone out on , no wonder she knew I wasn't listening.
" Next week , I'm coming to Australia for the week , so I can come cuddle my beautiful wife." A bright blush creeps along my cheeks at her nickname.
"God I love you Kristen Mewis." " I Love you dearly Samantha Kerr"
