Unknown Force

Chapter 10

Qyn tried keeping some distance away from Kylo, keeping him away from Rey and Finn was easily done enough as he followed her through the forest; she ducked under tree branches and jumped over rocks and logs. Kylo hunted her down like prey, he was the hunter, and she was the hunted now; she tried to get through to him wanting him to know that there was someone out there that understood the fight between light and darkness, it was a feeling she knew all too well from that night her life changed; but she couldn't understand why she felt like she need to help him understand.

Kylo swung again at her, but she dodged again by ducking under another branch that he sliced in half still following her to fight her; looking behind her she could see a shockwave of debris rolling towards them both. The planet was slowly falling apart from the inside and ready to blow up any time at any moment, hearing the loud crumbling behind her, Qyn glanced back to see a large crater forming; splitting the planet in two allowing the sight of the lava that ran through this planet from the destruction.

Qyn spun back around to block Kylo's attack letting their sabers lock together as he slightly pushed her over to the edge of the large hole that was forming behind them; trying to make her surrender with any sort of force or push her down to her death.

"You need a purpose! I can show you the ways of the force, you can make a difference if you were by my side" Kylo spoke over the strong winds that were picking up and the loud crumbling of the planet; looking at Qyn in the eyes wishing she would take his offer.

Hearing him say by his side; made her heart flutter in a way she has never felt before, she couldn't help but want to take his offer, but she knew that a life back in the dark side wasn't something she didn't wish to be brought back into.

"Dearie, what I know about the force you could never imagine" she said back to Kylo never breaking away from his eyes while she stared at him through the flickering of their light sabers.

Taking in a deep breath, Qyn closed her eyes for a moment letting her senses take over; Kylo was confused by her words about the force, what could she possibly know about the force that he didn't know already? The question he asked himself in his head stopped when Qyn opened her eyes once more, letting her eyes change once again to a snake looking eye; she ducked under him spinning away from him and the cliff side they found themselves on. Blocking Kylo's attack she returned her attacks with more force movement, attacking him faster than before making sure he didn't get an opening to attack her back.

Swinging under him she cut back parts of his black attire, giving him a cut on one of his legs knocking him down on his feet for a moment; she allowed him to get back up again still not done but she easily blocked his attack and thrusted her saber forward to give him another cut on his left arm this time making him groan from the pain. She used the snow to her advantage; kneeling down she threw snow in his face to block his line of sight when she lifted her right leg up and kicked him in the chest letting his stumble back onto the ground, he groaned for a moment when trying to get his barring back.

He stood up swinging his saber that she blocked; grabbing onto his wrist with her free arm as she swung but he grabbed her wrist with his free hand holding on tightly that it might leave a bruise; she pushed against his strength when pointing his saber into the ground letting it hiss with the contact as they struggled against each other.

"I'm sorry, Ben" Qyn looked up at Kylo grabbing his attention when speaking his true name to him; seeing the hate in his eyes when hearing that name was enough to pull her armed hand free from his grip.

She knocked his saber out of his hand, turning it off before she brought her saber back up again; hitting him against his skin to leave a scar on his face now; he fell over with a loud groan when being hit by her saber. She breathed heavily from winning the fight as she looked at Kylo, he slowly sat up sitting on his elbow of his left arm; the injury she gave him covered his right cheek and slightly over his eye and went down to his collarbone. They locked eyes with each other before the ground underneath them crack open and split them apart, but they never broke away from eye contact.

"Anger gets you nowhere Ben, I learned that when it was too late; please don't make the same mistakes I did!" she spoke loud enough for him to hear her, knowing what path he was going down; it was a path she knew perfectly well.

She turned off her saber when she turned away from him and took off running, knowing that she needed to get to the falcon quickly now before the planet blew up; she could see the lights from the falcon in sight as she ran faster towards the ship, the door was open with Rey standing there ready to help her on board. Qyn took a large jump reaching her arm out she caught Rey's hand in hers and pulled herself on board when they were flying away from the crumbling planet beneath them.

"Qyn, you alright?" Rey asked her sister, seeing she seemed a bit out of sorts; being out of breath like she was and that never happened, nor did she come out of a fight with a bloody nose or hole in her shoulder.

"I'm fine, just need some space right now" Qyn said while she leaned against the wall of the ship catching her breath and trying to calm down her heartbeat; seeing Kylo's face every time she closed her eyes even for a second.

Qyn walked away from Rey to find a place to calm herself down; bracing herself against the wall she let out a shaky sigh, why was she feeling this way? What made Kylo Ren bring these unknown feelings inside of her? She was trained to lock her emotions away to never let them out even for a moment for they were known as a weakness. Hearing her father's words echo through her head made her close her eyes from the tears that were beginning to build in her eyes. She needed to calm down before going out of this ship and seeing the other people in the resistance, she didn't need to be looked at like some sort of broken-down piece of metal. 

Steeling herself she took in a breath before marching out of the ship when it landed, seeing the people of the resistance running around to check their gears and people who might be hurt; Finn was one of them who was hurt and was taken away to be taken care of. Qyn bypassed the people running around and made her way into the main base, trying to find a place to relax for a moment before knowing Rey would want to find this Skywalker person; she was in it now and Qyn guest she was in this as well maybe deeper than she should be, running some hot water on a rag she started to clean up her bloody nose. Not feeling it broken was enough to know it was fine, but it was going to leave a bruise while it healed.

"Qyn Vantai?" her name was called out by a woman who came up behind her out of nowhere.

"Yes?" she said while tossing the rag into the bin beside her, turning around to be face to face with the general herself or as everyone knew her as, princess Leia.

"I know you've been through a lot but, could I ask you something?" Leia spoke up again walking further into the little corner of the base; wanting something only Qyn could do.

Qyn sighs but nods her head, ready to know what the princess wished Qyn to do after what she had done on the planet and against the men on the planet. She had a good feeling she needed to play the part of the best bounty hunter in the galaxy to make this mystery mission work out for everyone.
