-Elena-
Love is a weird feeling. Sure, it is a new feeling to me. But I am not sure if I will ever get used to it. It is like a wave of warm-fuzzy feelings that wash over me everytime Mako looks at me. It is the strangest thing. Just one look and he has my stomach fluttering like a bug. I didn't think it was possible to have a reaction like that.
Mako was in the bath while I sat on the windowsill and gazed out at the bustling city below. The Earth Kingdom was a much different place than Republic City. The people wore more traditional clothes, the streets were smaller, there were hardly any motor vehicles, and most of the people here were Earth benders.
Even after Mako and I confessed our love for each other, I couldn't help but think back to what Korra said. She truly hates me. I sigh, trying to force myself not to think about it.
The sound of the door opening made me turn, Mako stepping out of the washroom. A towel wrapped dangerously low on his body. The fine lines of his muscles on his lower abdomen are outlined by the droplets of water rolling down his body. His hair is wet and shiny in the light of the room, making him look like something out of a dream.
"Like what you see?" Mako grins, noticing my shameless stare.
"What?" I say back, "Am I not allowed to stare at my boyfriend?"
He only smiles, stepping forward to stand in front of me. I let my feet touch the ground, standing up in front of him as he wraps his strong arms around my waist.
"I like when you say that" He says softly, looking down at me sweetly
"Say what?" I ask, head tilted to the side
"That I am your boyfriend" He replies, then shrugs, "I dunno, it makes me feel good inside"
"Well, I like calling you my boyfriend" I say
Mako chuckles to himself, pulling me close to him. I feel him rest his chin on top of my head, a pleased sigh coming from him. We stand like this for a moment and enjoy each other's embrace.
"I'm sorry Korra got under your skin" He says after a moment, "I have tried to talk to her about it, but she is really stubborn"
"I know" I say, stepping out of his embrace to look at him, "It's a difficult situation"
"I just hate that it makes you feel weird" He says, "you shouldn't have to worry about my ex-girlfriend like this"
I walk toward the washroom, "Who says I'm worried about her?" I say slyly, glancing at him over my shoulder.
Mako's smile morphs into a smirk, his feet carrying him toward me. I keep his gaze, confidence flowing through me as I reach for the hem of my blouse and pull it over my head and toss it to the floor. Mako stares, watching the garment fall before locking eyes with me.
"What are you doing?" He murmurs, watching my hands grasp the zipper of my skirt and unzip it.
"Getting into the bath" I say dumbly, letting the skirt pool at my feet on the ground. I smile innocently as I reach up and untie the string holding my hair up, letting it fall loosely around my shoulders.
"Elena" He says, moving to wrap his arms around my waist and pull me into him.
I look up, feeling the skin of his stomach touch the bare skin of mine. My heart was practically beating out of my chest.
"Yes?" I hum, looking up at him through my eyelashes. He only smirks back, leaning down to hastily press his lips to mine. We embrace for a few minutes, our lips moving in sync with each other. He deepens the kiss as I feel his tongue dart into my mouth. I reach up to feel his hair between my fingers, pulling him closer to me.
