The diamond of the season

 The queens ball Anthony decided was very bland, it was filled with hyacinths and violets as decor it also didn't help that young ladies had been determined to dance with him.He of course managed to slide his way out of dancing with anyone until, he locked eyes with Kate on the other side of the room.With as much speed as he could manage navigating through the crowds he made his way to Kate Sharmas side where he knew he would be for the rest of the evening.

He looked at what she was wearing she wore an orange dress which was not Featherington orange he noted.He then looked at her neck were a simple necklace sat he then looked at her face.She looked like she was on the verge of tears and he hated the look on her face, he already knew whoever made her cry shall pay.''Miss Sharma''he greeted with a smile trying to get her to do the same''My lord''she curtsied and let her hand be taken to his lips

Anthony then made the required greeting to the rest of the group although Edwina just scowled slightly at him when he greeted her.Anthony noted this then went back to Kates side before asking''May I have the next dance Miss Sharma''she just nodded as she was to busy thinking to speak.

A minute later the dance ended and he led her to the dance floor as the song begun.Which was a waltz[this was planned on Anthony part] so they danced together.

It took barley took two miniutes for Anthony to start to worry about her.''Miss Sharma are you well''He asked

''I am well, My lord''she answered but he already knew she was lying.

''Miss Sharma I think we both know you are lying, now tell me what's wrong''He retorted while she blushed at being called out.

''It is alright, My lord please do not worry''She said hoping for him to listen to what she was saying.

''That is like asking me not to court you,Miss Sharma''He said in a laugh and continued''and we both you will not get rid of me yet''

''Well it would be nice if-''

''Don't even suggest I stop''He interrupted 

''Well I am not looking for a husband''She said blandly

''Well I am afraid I will be you husband by the end of the season''He said smiling at her thoughts 

''Not if I refuse you''She chimed in

''I would then compromise you''He said in a low tone

''You wouldn't dare to compromise a lady''She said in a whisper

''I wouldn't ,it would be my last resort''He said honestly

''Such and earnest''She said sarcastically

''I know''He said smiling then realising she was distracting him''Miss Sharma were you distracting me''He said in a stern voice

''It seems I have been discovered''

''Will you please tell me what is bothering you Miss Sharma''He said worry laced in his voice

''I just overheard something, My Lord''She said deciding that was all she would tell him

''From who?''He asked 

''I cannot say, My Lord''

''Please tell me Miss Sharma''

''I overheard something from Mary and Edwina''

''What did they say''

''It does not matter''

Anthony looked towards Edwina who was not dancing  which made sense as she had a scowl on her face.Anthony looked back at Kate and saw she was staring at her.''Was It something about me''he asked softly she merely nodded

Before he could respond the queen stood up and the room quieted down immediately as well as the dancing. Brimsley the queens man pronounced ''This Seasons Diamond is Miss Edwina  Sharma''
