Kate waited by the window in the drawing room as they waited for her fiancé to arrive.Fiancé!It felt weird to call him that.She looked out the window and fantasied about the wedding which would hopefully take place in two weeks.The footman entered and announced "Lord Bridgerton"

Anthony made his greetings to the rest of the family then made his way to Kate."My Darling,I hope you are well this evening"Anthony said bowing and kissing her hand.

"I am well, Thank you My Lord"Kate said curtsying 

"Please will you call me something else"Anthony said"I don't want to be formal with you"

"Well I could call you Anthony if you want"

"Yes you can"

''How was your day,Anthony''

"Better now I'm here."

"I see,My love"

"My,Love?"

"Oh I'm sor-"

"Don't be I love it"

"Good to know"She said as she smiled then made eye contact with Edwina and the smile faded much to Anthony's dismay.Anthony glared back at Edwina and that made her look away immediately.Kate turned back to him."Are your family well today?"She asked

"They are and there will be quite a fight over the engagement ball"He said with a grin.

"That is good to know"She giggled and his heart skipped a beat

"My sister Daphne and her husband Simon have returned to London"

"I wish to meet them very much"

"You will tomorrow at the ball"

"We are ready for the dinning room now,My lord"Lady Danbury voice boomed as she shook the lovebirds out of there bubble.

Anthony took her arm and escorted her into the dining room where they were sat together.Dinner was served and the tension grew between them.Kate was focused on her plate and barely speaking.Anthony was distraught at his betrothed being such.Edwina was glaring at Kate but Anthony noticed Mary was giving Edwin a the 'look'.

"Miss Edwina are you well this evening"Lady Danbury asked sharply

"As well as I can be when my Half-Sister stole My Season and My Viscount"She lashed out dropping her cutlery

"What do you mean you Viscount"Anthony asked in rage

"You were supposed to court and marry me because I am the diamond of the season"Edwina said as if it was obvious

"I never looked twice at you because I fell in love with Kate the first moment I saw her"Anthony said standing up to stand behind Kate and take her hands"I would never of had the same feelings for you especially cause you are a spoilt two year old in a seventeen year olds body."

"You love her"Edwina screeched

"I heard many men were going to try and marry Kate"Anthony said

"Huh I don't believe it"Edwina scoff

"And why is that"Kate asked

"Your 26 your a spinster"Edwina spat

"HOW DARE YO-"Anthony roared before being cut off by Mary slapping Edwina

"I did not raise you to act like that.I raised you to be an even mannered girl not to insult others.Kate has found love after shielding us for years when she shouldn't of have to.I should of been doing that but I didn't.You are not my daughter anymore the earl may still marry you but I never want to see you again until you realise your mistake.You will go back to India at the end of the season if you are not wed."

Mary walked out of the room Edwina followed with tears in her eyes.

The three remaining stayed silent.

"I will go meditate,You two I trust to be proper."Lady Danbury said walking out

Anthony kneeled down and kissed her nose.She cupped his cheek.They sat there for a while in silence.They both knew everything would be better together.

I'm sorry about Mary I just think she wouldn't let Edwina continue like that and her not to have consequences
