"We are not Heathens!"

Kate walked into the ball on Lady Danbury's arm.Her Sister walked in on her mothers arm but neither of them looked pleased about it.Anthony immediately made his way to Kate and led her to his sister and Simon.Anthony although decided half way through the walk to lead her to the dance floor instead."I thought you were going to introduce me to your sister?"Kate asked as the began to waltz
"I was but I could not turn down an opportunity of dancing with you."Anthony flirted with her as a grin formed on his face.
"You do not have to flirt with me you already have my heart"Kate told him as he spinned her around
"Just because I have you does not mean I don't want to flirt with you"Anthony said as she blushed
"You are something else my love"She said as his eyes softened

The dance drew to a close and he led her to the Duke and Duchess of Hastings.Although they found that his sister had dragged Simon to meet them halfway.Simon who had been dragged almost lost his balance when his wife curtsied."Anthony you said you would introduce us to your fiancé as soon as you saw her"Daphne opened the conversation
"I could not pass the opportunity of dancing with my beautiful fiancé"Anthony answered
"Can we all stop speaking of me like I'm not here"Kate said smiling
"Of course My Darling,Kate meet my sister Daphne and her Husband Simon the duke of Hastings."Anthony said
"Your grace"Kate curtsied as Daphne almost knocked her over
"You are not to call me that you are to call me Daphne"Daphne said as she pulled away
Simon bowed and kissed her hand"Please Simon as I need an ally in amongst these heathens"
"We are not heathens!"Daphne and Anthony said at the same time
"If it helps you sleep at night then,yes you are not heathens"Kate said as the Bridgeton's pretended to look affronted while Simon laughed
"I can't believe you would not support you own fiancé"Anthony said hand over his heart
"Well is is true"Kate said as Simon laughed again as his wife glared at him.
"You and I Miss Sharma will be great friends indeed"Simon said
"Call me Kate if I'm allowed to call you Simon"Kate said as she smiled
"My Darling,I need to show off your ring so please may we take a turn around the room"Anthony said as he wrapped his armaround her  and led her away.The shocked gasps from the men and the withering glares from the eligible ladies and there mamas.But the two lovebirds were to distracted in their own world to notice.Especially the envious glares from Edwina.Lady Danbury and Lady Bridgerton sat in the corner."They make a handsome couple"Violet said as she watched in awe at her son
"They do"Lady Danbury agreed"They are also so very in love."

"I look forward to hosting the engagement ball"Agatha said
"But I'm hosting it"Violet said"I thought I would only have to fight Daphne for it but now you too"
"Well I am her sponsor"Agatha argues back.

The lovebirds watched as Daphne became involved in the squabble and stood next to each other smiling.
