it was about two months after the awards and tomorrow, me and jude were flying out to charleston to surprise madelyn before her birthday. i had kept in contact with mason and we have been trying to arrange a date but our schedules kept clashing, with his trainings and my meetings, we were struggling to find the perfect day. i was still really excited though. right now i was beginning to pack. i decided to get out my camera and start filming my charleston vlog. i knew it woud make the fans happy.
"hey guys and welcome back to dani's diary. if you are new, hi my name is dani and this is my digital diary!" i began, "right now, i am packing because tomorrow, me and jude are flying to charleston to surprise maddy for her birthday! i am honestly so excited! i have actually been talking to her castmates, chase, jd and madison to arrange us coming over and help them plan a surprise birthday party but its been just over 2 years since we've seen her so i cannot wait! anyways guys, welcome to the start of my charleston vlog and i'll update you all when jude is here." i finished and turned off the camera.
i wasn't lying, i was so excited to see maddy. i started folding my clothes up to put into my suitcase when i felt the sudden urge to throw up. i was so confused but rushed to the toilet before the contents of my stomach ended up all over my favorite pyjamas. i had only just finished puking when jude knocked on my door. "hey j" i said when i answered the door, "woah, dan, whats up?" he asked me, "its really weird actually, i've been being sick on and off all afternoon but actually i feel fine." i said, "oh okay" he replied and came inside, suitcase and backpack in tow.
i finished up packing and jude sat on my bed while i did, "so, you excited to see maddy?" i asked him, "yea i am actually, it's been a while, i've missed us being all together" he said, "same. i'm just gonna film this clip real quickly and then we can order some food, yeah?" i said, "okay, sure." he replied.
i've been doing youtube for as long as i can remember so honestly, me filming in front of jude, really isn't that big of a deal. "so j is finally here guys." i said as jude waved at the camera,"and i have finally finished packing. so we are about to order some dinner and then probably get anearly night because our flight is at 8am which means we have to wake up at like 4am, so even though its like 8:30, it won't be long until we go to bed." i said as jude groaned. i chuckled before tallking again, "i should probably explain, because we have to get up early and we're flying together, jude is staying in my guest bedroom. that way we only have to take one car so parking is cheaper." i finished, "cost of living crisis innit" jude finally spoke up, "yea what he said, anyway we'll update you in the morning." i said before pressing the off button and grabbing my phone so me and jude could order some food.
before going to bed, i threw up again. jude was rubbing my back and holding my hair, being an amazing best friend but it was so weird because i didn't feel ill at all. we were both really confused but i thought nothing of it and went to sleep before the big day tomorrow. my alarm went off at 3:45 and i wanted to murder somebody. it was defintely not my morning. i cried because i couldn't get the kettle to work, then i realised that the switch wasn't on. i felt a little bit stupid but maybe my period was coming. i had no clue.
a couple hours later me and jude were on the plane to go and see madelyn, we were both buzzing. i had updated my vlog on what the plan was. we were gonna drop our bags off at our hotel room next to the cast's apartment building and then we were going to drive to set and surprise her. i was wearing a white crop top and jeans with a white trench coat and white heeled boots. i really went for a white theme. i did my makeup quickly on the plane beacuse i defintely did not have the energy to do it this morning at what felt like the crack of dawn. i added a black hangbag and chucked my hair back in a claw clip. i felt really pretty.
it wasn't long until we had landed in charleston and were making our way to our hotel. it was actually really lovely. we were staying in two rooms joined toegther by a door. we both had double beds and even an en-suite each. i felt like a kardashian. we cleaned ourselves up and got in our rental car before making our way to where maddy was filming for the day. i was so excited i could have screamed.
we arrived at set and were met by rudy, one of madelyn's castmates, he was really lovely and got on with j really well. he took us the back way round and we managed to catch maddy while she was doing a scene. i was so proud of her, she'd wanted to do this for as long as i could remember. once she finished the scene, me and jude started clapping and screaming like maniacs. she looked confused until she turned around.
i could see the tears welling up in her eyes as she saw us, she ran over and gave me the biggest hug, we both started crying, "maddy!" i shouted through my tears, "dani, what are you doing here?" she asked when she finally let go, "hey, i'm here too." jude said faking being offended, "i couldn't forget you now, could i j?" she said and jumped into his arms. i was over the moon to finally see my best friend again.
we got rudy to take a picture of us, and were just talking and catching up until the moment was ruined. "hey mads, is there a bathroom round here?" i asked her, "yea, just through that door, why?" she said but before i could reply, i sprinted to the bathroom. within two seconds maddy was right there next to me, making sure i was okay. "dan, are you alright?" she asked me, "yea, i just keep throwing up, i'm fine. anyway what are we doing tonight?" i asked her, wanting to celebrate our little trio being back together again.
