"dani? the brownies are done!" mason said, "perfect babe, i'll come cut them up, do you wanna choose a movie for us?" i replied, "sounds great" he says and walks back into the living room and gives me a kiss on the cheek, i go into the kitchen and chop the brownies into squares, putting two on each plate, with a little bit of squirty cream on the side and a glass of milk each, i carry them in and place them on the coffee table and see that mase has chosen home alone, a top tier movie choice. we sit down together on the sofa and i snuggled into his side, whilst he pressed play on the movie.

about halfway through the film, mase put his hand on my stomach and rubbed softly, "i can't believe there's a whole human in there" he whispered, "me either" i replied, "we're gonna have a baby." he said, "look, ive told my parents about what's happening and they've invited you to family dinner tomorrow, will you please come?" he asked me, this was a step up. meeting the family, we only started dating today. i'm pregnant with his child. they're gonna hate me. but i have to do this, i need to begin this relationship in a good way, "umm are you sure, they want me there? that they don't hate me?" i asked, "i'm sure" he replied chuckling, "okay, yea, i'll come, it'll be nice. i guess this means i need to tell my parents now" i sighed

"wait you haven't told your parents?" he asked, "i've told my siblings but not my parents yet. i know they'll be nothing but supportive but i just can't help but feel like i've let them down a little." i confessed. "i understand that it's tricky but you're gonna start showing soon and they'll be more upset if you waited ages to tell them" he told me, unfortunately, he was right. "i'll go over tomorrow before we drive up to your parents" i said taking a deep breath and kissing his cheek before falling into a sleep feeling safe in his arms.

the next morning, i woke up and texted my mum asking if i could come over quick. i made mason a cuppa and got myself some lemon water before getting changed. i was freaking out. what do you wear to meet your boyfriends parents for the first time? i wanted to make an effort and it to look like id made an effort but not too much of an effort. you know? i just went with a beige knitted jumper, tucked into a skirt with tights and knee kigh boots.

i hoped i looked okay. as i was doing my make-up, mason walked into the bathroom. "good morning baby" he said, "morning mase" i said kissing him on the cheek, "you okay?" he asked, "yea, i'm just stressing a little, lots of things are going on today. important things, i don't want anything to go wrong." i told him. "dani, relax. my parents already love you and your parents do too so you'll be fine, i promise" he reasurred me. "i know, i'm just stressed." i said, leaning into his chest.

an hour later, i had just pulled up outside my parents. i took a deep breath and stepped out of the car. "hey mum" i said when she answered the door, "hey sweetheart!" my mum said, pulling me into a hug. i had planned to ease into it and find the right time to tell them but when her arms wrapped around me, i burst into tears almost immediately. "whats wrong baby?" she asked, "where's dad? i need you both here for this" i said, "MARIO! GET YOUR ARSE DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!" my mum shouted, and i heard my dad run down the stairs, "dani? dani, whats wrong?" he asked, "you have to promise not to get mad." i said in between sobs, "im, umm, im pregnant."

we all went and sat down on the sofa in the front room, me in the middle and my parents either side of me, "tell us everything" my mum said, so i did. i told them everything, from the party, to finding out and telling mase. they were amazing and i think they were actually excited to be having a grandchild. i'd now told pretty much everybody i knew so now all i had to do was meet masons family then i could go home and call maddie and jude. oh shit. i had to meet masons family.
