we woke up the next morning and got ready for our ultrasound apointment. i was so so excited to see our little bubba and so was mase. i got a text from my dad in the family groupchat. "goodlucktodayellie,wewantpicturesofourlittlesorpresaassoonaspossibleplease!"he had started calling the baby sorpresa because it means surprise in italian. it was something me and mason had adopted too. i just chucked on some leggings and a jumper so it was easy for my midwife to get to my stomach. we grabbed a quick pit stop at starbucks on the way and got to the hospital just in time.
we got called in and did the necessary paperwork. it took about 20 minutes before my midwife, julie asked me to get on to the bed. i did as she asked, i lifted up my jumper and she put a blob of gel onto my stomach and turned the lights off before using a weird looking device too see inside my stomach. after a few seconds of searching, she found the baby. tears welled up in my eyes almost straight away. it was a proper baby, inside me. it finally felt real. mase grabbed my hand and kissed it, i could see the tears in his eyes aswell. i've never been happier.
i'm seventeen weeks along, so nearly four months which is mental, i'm further along than i thought. it makes sense though as i'm finally starting to show. we said thank you to julie and made our way out to the car. i took a picture of our ultrasounds and sent them to jas as well as the family groupchat. all my family were so excited and happy. it made me smile. we went back home and started looking online for little baby bits.
i got a text from denise, jude's mum, inviting us to a birthday thing for jobe in a week. of course i accepted, she even offered for mason to come aswell. i decided to facetime her to tell her about the baby. i knew she'd be over the moon. she picked up on the first ring.

i couldn't stop smiling so decided to call auntie pam and tell her aswell. her reaction was pretty much the same. it made me feel extremely grateful to have 3 amazing maternal figures in my life that have been with me through every step of my life. i knew this baby would be so loved. me and mase had a converstation about what we wanted to do, in regards to announcing the baby. we spoke about it and decided to take some nice pictures and just put it out there. we knew that the majority of our fans would be nice and that's all that matters.
we decided to go to the shops and get some flowers and some ingredients to have a nice dinner together. we picked up some white tulips and stuff for me to make spag bol for dinner. it was gonna be a cute little date night. we took some pictures with the tulips and ultrasound picture to announce the baby but decided we were gonna do it later. we got home and i started cooking. whilst i was cooking, i got a call from maddie, i answered obviously and we spoke for ages. mase even came in at one point and i introduced them over facetime. i was happy, i would find out what maddy actually thinks about him later though.
we sat down and ate, just talking about baby names and things in general. it was really lovely, our first proper date and it was exactly what i wanted. after dinner we sat down on my sofa and watched she's the man whilst making the announcement post.
