Walking through the crowd as people stood in rows holding their scythes in hand.

It took some time and long days of training but now they were real fighters. And today would be their first day in learning how to fight with scythes. Lewis stood off the field to the side. Eyeing the fighters with intensity. He wanted to see how well his weapons held up in the heat of battle. Ever the perfectionist in his craft even if he didn't outright show it.

Judas ran by with his soldiers, all running down the path that circled the town and field. Shirtless and sweating as he huffed his way down the path. I could feel my bond to him trying to draw me closer but I fought it. The need to just take a tiny peek into his head.

My focus should remain on the lesson.

I turn my attention back to the class in front of me, Zion, Val and Cassie at the head of the field. They took position as I shouted in the old tongue.

"Sét!" I shout and all the fighters take their staff in hand holding it at their sides, legs spread wide as they squatted down on their back leg. Front leg stretch forward, blade facing out and eyes locked forward.

"Kiyà!" I shout again and as a unison lunge forward twirling the scythe and slicing their blade in the air, before bending down to a squat on their front leg. The scythe's blade now pointed at their toes, staffs gripped tightly in their hands.

"Bôru!"

Once again, all together they jump back, twirling their scythes around their head and holding the blade out in front of them, blade completely parallel to their neck, forearms held in front of their faces to block the blade from moving closer to them. A defense position taken.

"Happy to see you've been practicing." I mutter to no one in particular. And move to the front of the crowd. "Sét, Kiyà, Bôru!" I keep repeating as my pack mates around me follow along. Ready, striking the air, then defense, then strike again.

A few of them getting more comfortable with their weapon and free styling a bit more as the lesson went on. Soon it was down to sparring.

"A few of them are getting excessively cocky." Zion says as we watch people in pairs spar with each other.

"How can you be cocky with something that's supposed to be a gardening tool?" Val scoffs.

"I agree, you can't forget you can get hurt with your own weapon." Cassie says. "What happened to Zack?" She asks looking up from her clipboard.

"He's off on a goose chase sadly, so that means I'll be covering his classes." I say.

"Goose chase?" Cassie asks looking at me.

"He's already on their trail. Found them heading East, he's probably caught up to them by now." Zion says.

"That was quick!" I look at Zion is surprise.

"You can definitely count on Zack to get the job done as quickly as possible." Val chimes in. "Just so he could go back to sleep and ignore people."

"The more you talk about him, the more I understand the man." I say. "I'm going to leave this in your capable hands, and check in on the fairies. Hopefully they haven't set the wheat fields on fire yet." I say and turn walking off the field.

I deter from the usual path and instead head down to the spring.

The pool capturing my attention almost instantly as I came across it. It was a hot springs sure, but it didn't burn, it was a soothing deep relaxing pool. One I cherished going to before finding out it was literally a well of magic. Who knows what the effect was supposed to be if you drank from it.
