Beau
The red hue behind my eyelids offered no comfort, only telling me the room I was in was bright. I moan throwing an aching arm over my eyes.
"Someone please turn the damn lights off." I grumble and I hear gasps all around the room. Sparks igniting from one touch on my elbow.
"Beau?" Judas's deep voice making me peak out from underneath my arm.
"I'm serious about those lights. This is torture." My voice hoarse and someone quickly dashes across the room flicking off the lights.
I let my arm fall away from my face glancing around the room. My eyes falling on only five figures in the room. I could barely recognize any of them as I squinted through my eyelids.
"The fuck?" I struggle to sit up feeling a sharp pain in my abdomen. One hand hold me down.
"Don't rush, you're still healing." Judas speaks softly pushing me back down to the bed.
"How long have I been out?" My throat burning with dehydration.
"A week." Judas says. "You lost a lot of blood and flatlined a couple of times." His voice shaking as he explained.
I hear another gasp in the room and turn my gaze to see someone that looks easily similar to Yazmin.
Oh shit, it is Yazmin.
"Yaz?"
She jumps on me the second I say her name. The light comes on again as Yaz squeezes me to her.
"Ow." I say flatly.
"Sorry!" She quickly pulls away staring at the floor guiltily.
"Dear Nyx Isabeau." My mothers voice was the thing that was truly shocking. She stood against the far wall, my father staring at me from his place near the light switch. Luca was sitting in one of the hospital chairs facing the bed. Elbows on his knees as he held his face in his hands.
"You are a mess of all messes." My mother hissing at me as she pushes off the wall. Walking towards the bed as her eyes glowed furiously.
"Ma please stop it!" Luca says from his place in the chair.
"Running blindly into the woods in the middle of a storm! They shot you Beau! They shot you! You could have died!" She screams gripping the side of the hospital bed.
"Petra that's enough!" My father shouting stepping further into the room to tame his wife. He was right to, even I was getting fed up with her righteousness.
"No it's not enough! It's not nearly enough! She's going to get herself killed, what the hell did Thomas teach you-"
"Don't you talk about Tommy!" I shout, my heart rate on the monitor increasing. "You dumped me on him, and he did your job without complaint! So you don't dare talk about Tommy! I don't want to hear his name in your mouth!" My voice grating against the strain. Judas putting his hands on my shoulder trying to calm me down.
My mother back away from the bed as Judas tried to pull my eyes away from her.
"You need to stay calm. Okay? Your body has been through a lot."
"I want to get out of here." I say looking around me. Snatching the IV out of my arm as I rip the bandages off me. The alarms immediately going off as I let the tubes fall to the floor.
"Beau you can't do that!" Yazmin shrieking as I push myself to stand. Judas already standing in my way trying to get me back down on the bed. My feet hitting the floor, feeling the rubber lining that was supposed to add grip. Wearing something that resembled nurses scrubs but in yellow.
