Henrietta and Winny both depart after devouring the table, while I decide to roam the halls. The palace seemed brighter than the last time I was here. Although last time, the three royal brutes were tearing apart their own throne room.
I found Adler just as I was done exploring the center garden.
"Alpha Oakwood." He bows formally to me.
"What's up Adler?" I respond almost too casually for the situation.
"The meeting with the alpha's will begin shortly."
"Yeah about that-" I begin but he stops me.
"It was rescheduled to today due to yesterday's very expected circumstances. If you're looking for his highness he is in the dining room having a late breakfast with the other alpha's."
"And I wasn't invited?" I raise an eyebrow to him and he stutters a bit before recovering. Stepping closer and trying to keep his voice level.
"It was his highness's wish to have you isolated from the other alpha's, not to undermine you but because of-"
"Classic male testosterone, pride, and a large heaping fucking dose of ego?" I fill in for him and after a beat he nods.
"Yes my lady."
"My lady?" I chuckle seemingly catching him off guard with my cavalier attitude. "Just call me Beau." I say.
My lady? When have I ever acted like a fucking lady?
I follow the sound of gruff chatting and baritone voices, Alder quickens his pace to lead the way. We make it to a set of doors, throwing open the door into the room, to see it was a completely different dining room.
Windows open wide letting in all the fresh air and sunlight. The Alpha's all sitting around a large wooden round table. They all stop talking when they see me.
"Beau." Judas stands from his seat at the head of the table. Looking surprised to see me. "You should be resting."
"Why?" I press as I slowly stride into the room. Judas watching my every move until I hear his voice in my head.
"Because I know for a fact you're not wearing any underwear underneath that. All of these alpha's are also staring at your tits because you NEVER wear a bra, you're on thin fucking ice, Antonia."
His reply making me chuckle. I stare at the war map in the middle of the table. The figurines on the table standing in for soldiers.
"No way are you entertaining the idea of an assault plan right now." I laugh at their audaciousness. "When he's just now licking his teeth at the taste of magic?"
Judas rolls his eyes and gestures at the table in front of him.
"I entertained it because they thought it was necessary." He sighs. "I've already debriefed them on Harald's recent stunt using astral projection. They thought it was necessary to plan an ambush."
"We already did that." I scoff.
Some of the Alpha's at the table clearly offended on how we're were talking without them.
"And if there's magic involved it would have been great to get Mila and Vadim here. It's their home they should be in on it." I say.
"I talked to them about it but they don't want to leave just in case Harald makes another attack." Judas says.
"We know nothing about magic." I sigh.
"And yet there has been talks that you own a personal well of magic on your land, that the elves are using while they stay with you." Another alpha at the table speaks up, interrupting the flow of conversation with his bristling voice.
