Octavia felt a cold breeze fill her dimly lit room, as she sat there wrapped in her cover that was tightly secured around her shoulders as she shivered, staring at the floor on the edge of her bed waiting for her girlfriend. And right when the cold breeze brushed against the tip of her nose, Octavia knew that her girlfriend had made her usually quirky entrance... through her window.
Slowly, drawn out of her disassociation Octavia turned her head and icy blue eyes met hers, a grin forming on her face, waving the woman over with a grin. "Hey pretty girl," she purrs, her voice holding a quiet tone, walking over to Octavia. Who says nothing and lifts the cover from one side of her shoulder so her girlfriend can join her.
Instead, the shorter woman sat on Octavia's lap wrapping her arms around her girlfriend, so Octavia enclosed the cover around them. "Billie," Octavia whispers amusement in her tone, as she snakes her arms around Billie's waist pulling her closer.
"Are you cold?" she questions, and Octavia gives a small nod in return, but Billie knew deep down that she couldn't change that... as her own skin was always icy cold.
Octavia cautiously lays down still wrapped in the cover and Billie's arms, she pulls her girlfriend with her. Billie looked down at her girlfriend her eyes looked tired, and her smile drooped, instead of questioning it she smirked at the new position they were in as Octavia squeezed her waist tighter. Billie flipped them over quickly so that Octavia was lying on her, "Hey," Octavia whined a small pout on her lips before bringing them to Billie's cold neck, placing soft kisses as her girlfriend sighed.
"I love you," she whispers, and Octavia's heart beats three times as fast as it should be, realising that those words would soon disappear. She'd miss them, she'd miss Billie's captivating blue eyes as well as her luxurious gold ones... she'd never see Billie's breathtaking features again, never feel Billie's grounding hugs again, never feel that overwhelming love that she has for Billie. "Hey? What's wrong?" she questioned as Octavia's lips were still pressed against Billie's neck, not moving anywhere.
"Uh, ADHD... am I right?" Octavia jokes placing a small peck on Billie's lips, but Billie kisses her back, Octavia's heartbeat rising. "I love you too, I... I know I didn't say just then... sorry," Octavia apologises squeezing Billie a little tighter.
"Don't worry," she whispered and Octavia almost chuckled at the bittersweet irony of her girlfriend's words... don't worry. That's all she could do; all she was good at.
"I have to brush my teeth... will you stay here a little longer? I know you must go out again but... I- Please?" Octavia questioned her voice held a mixture of unreality and hope.
"Hey, I'll be here when you come back," she assured Octavia who let out a breath before giving her a nod and walking into the bathroom.
Whilst in the bathroom, Octavia tiredly grabbed her toothbrush switching on the light lazily standing in front of the mirror. As she brushed her teeth she watched as a couple of strands of her hair just falls slowly in front of her... shit. Confusion clouded Octavia's features, but she knew that it was because of the treatment that she was going under. Octavia's eyes welled up with tears as she picked up the beanie off the bathroom counter and placed it over her head --- Octavia has a secret. A soul-crushing secret. She was diagnosed with cancer a month ago and had been keeping it hidden from Billie so as not to worry her.
