A/n: Billie is so hot in this one... okay ;)
A month had passed, and Billie's physical wounds were healing, while both she and Octavia were making progress on their emotional journey. They decided to watch, a movie together, they were cuddeled up under the covers on the couch.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, providing a brief respite from the turmoil they had endured. However, a sudden, unexpected knock on the door disrupted the tranquillity.
Octavia instinctively moved out of Billie's hold and walked towards the door, ready to greet the visitor, but Billie, ever the fierce protector, gently but firmly placed herself between Octavia and the door. It was a reflex, a manifestation of Billie's unwavering commitment to ensuring her wife's safety.
"Stay right here, Vee," Billie whispered to Octavia, her pretty blue eyes filled with a mixture of caution and determination. She knew that they couldn't afford to let their guard down, not after everything they had been through.
With a sense of resolve, Billie approached the door, her hoodie concealing the presence of the gun she still carried. She didn't open the door wide; instead, she left it partially ajar, a cautious measure to assess the stranger's intentions.
The room fell silent, tension hanging in the air as Billie exchanged a few words with the visitor, her voice low and measured. Octavia watched, her heart racing, trusting Billie to handle the situation, but still feeling a surge of anxiety at the unexpected intrusion. Their journey towards healing had made them stronger, but the scars of the past were not easily forgotten.
The visitor at the door, a stranger to both Billie and Octavia, maintained an air of uncertainty. Billie's protective stance and her partially concealed gun sent a clear message that this was not an ordinary visit.
Octavia watched as her wife engaged in a hushed conversation with the stranger. Her fingers subconsciously clenched and unclenched, betraying the anxiety that simmered beneath the surface. She trusted Billie's instincts, but the past had left them both on edge, wary of any unexpected encounters.
Billie's voice remained calm and steady, probing for information while simultaneously guarding their privacy. Octavia couldn't hear the words exchanged, but she saw the subtle shifts in Billie's expressions—a furrowed brow, a cautious nod, a flicker of concern.
As the conversation unfolded, Octavia's apprehension gradually gave way to a glimmer of curiosity. Who was this person, and what had brought them to their doorstep? The unease lingered, but the need for answers tugged at her.
Billie's pretty blue eyes remained vigilant, locked onto the stranger's gaze, assessing not just their words but their demeanour. It was a testament to Billie's unwavering commitment to protecting her wife, even in the face of the unexpected.
After a few more moments, Billie made a decision, her voice firm but not unkind. Whatever had transpired between them seemed to have reached a resolution, though Octavia couldn't discern the details. Billie closed the door quietly and turned to face Octavia, her expression a mixture of relief and guardedness.
Octavia couldn't help but question, "Billie, who was that?"
Billie hesitated for a moment, her gaze locked with Octavia's, before she finally replied, "Just someone who got the wrong address, Vee. Nothing to worry about."
Octavia nodded, accepting Billie's explanation, but the tension that had momentarily gripped their gathering had left its mark. Their journey toward healing continued, and though progress was made, the scars of the past remained, a testament to their resilience and the enduring strength of their love.
