A/n: This is a completely different type of chapter, in this one Billie isn't famous in this imagine, Billie is a teen mom, and Octavia isn't in this one. I know she's the main character but this one is too cute to not write :)

Billie sat on the worn-out couch in her small, dimly lit apartment, the soft glow of a table lamp casting a warm and comforting atmosphere. Her 1-year-old daughter, Blair, was playing on the floor with a collection of colourful toys. It had been a challenging year since Blair's birth, but Billie's love for her daughter had only grown stronger.
At 19 years old, Billie was still finding her way in the world as a single mother. She had faced adversity when Blair had arrived unexpectedly a year ago, but she embraced motherhood with unwavering determination. Her parents, Maggie and Patrick, had been her pillars of support. They'd helped with everything from babysitting to providing emotional support.
Billie's older brother, Finneas, was another constant presence in their lives. At 24, he was a loving uncle who had been with his girlfriend, Claudia, for 3 years. They often joined Billie and Blair for family gatherings and shared the joys and challenges of raising a child.
On this particular evening, Blair's whining escalated into a full-fledged cry. Billie's heart clenched as she quickly got up and scooped her daughter into her arms. Blair's tiny face was contorted with distress, but she couldn't articulate what was wrong. Billie gently rocked her, speaking softly, "It's okay, sweetie. Mama's here. Tell me what's bothering you."
Blair's big, curious eyes glistened with tears, but she couldn't communicate her needs through words yet. Billie sighed softly, her own frustration mixing with concern. She knew this was part of the challenge of raising a nonverbal child. She began to run through the checklist of potential issues - hunger, a dirty diaper, or perhaps just the need for comfort.
Blair's little fingers brushed against Billie's jaw, her gentle touch a surprise that caught Billie off guard. Her confusion gave way to curiosity as Blair's tiny hand pointed towards her own jaw, and then back at Billie's. It was a moment of connection that took Billie by surprise, a glimpse into her daughter's world that she had never experienced before.
Billie's brows furrowed in concern as she gently probed Blair's jaw with her fingers. Blair's face scrunched up slightly, and she whimpered softly, a note of discomfort that tugged at Billie's heartstrings. She softly asked, "Does it hurt, sweetie?"
Blair, unable to speak, simply blinked her big, expressive eyes in response. Billie understood that Blair couldn't convey her pain in words, but her eyes held a plea for comfort.
Billie's maternal instincts kicked into high gear as she realized what was happening. Teething. Blair was teething, and the pain of her first tooth breaking through was causing her distress. Billie's heart ached for her daughter as she cradled her close and whispered, "It's okay, baby girl. Mama's here. Teething can be tough, but we'll get through it together."
With Blair still in her arms, Billie headed to the kitchen, searching for a teething toy in the jumble of baby supplies. She found a chilled teething ring and gently placed it in Blair's tiny hands. Blair's grip on the ring was shaky but determined, and she began gnawing on it, seeking relief from the pain.
Billie watched her daughter with a mixture of empathy and pride. Blair's teething journey was a rite of passage, a milestone that marked her growth. Billie knew it wouldn't be the last challenge they faced together, but it was one they could conquer as a team.
As Blair continued to chew on the teething ring, her cries gradually subsided. Billie couldn't help but marvel at her daughter's resilience. She whispered words of encouragement, "That's my brave girl. You're handling this so well."
