"Cyra'ika, where's my pack?" Nadia asked Tech.
Hunter choked on his rations, and Nadia gave him a worried look. She tried to help him, but he shoed her away.
"What did you call him?" Hunter weakly asked.
"Cyra'ika," Nadia said, tilting her head at Hunter. "Why? Do you know what it means?"
"Who told you that word?" Hunter asked, narrowing his eyes at Tech.
"Wrecker told me to call Tech that," Nadia explained.
Hunter frowned. "Why?"
"Tech calls her Mesh'la, and she wanted a nickname for him," Crosshair told Hunter.
"Oh, does he now?" Hunter raised an eyebrow.
"Is he calling me a bitch? Is it bad?" Nadia worriedly asked. "Am I calling him bantha fodder?"
"Relax, it's nothing like that," Hunter assured her.
He opened his mouth to tell her what it meant, but his comm suddenly buzzed. He checked it and sighed.
"It's Commander Cody. I better take this," Hunter said and stepped out of the room.
"Tech, does it bother you when I call you Cyra'ika?" Nadia softly asked. "I can stop."
"I'm fine with you referring to me as Cyra'ika, but I believe you should know what it means before you decide whether you want to continue calling me that," Tech sighed. "It means-"
"We have an urgent mission!" Hunter interrupted, tucking his comm into his pocket. "We're needed on Hoth right now. We're desperately needed as backup."
"Hoth?" Wrecker repeated. "I don't wanna go to Hoth."
"None of us do," Crosshair crossed his arms. "Who's even on Hoth that we need to save?"
"A Jedi crash landed on Hoth, and her distress signal was intercepted by the Seperatists," Hunter informed them. "She's holding out, but she needs our assistance."
Tech nodded and hurried to the cockpit, Crosshair polished his rifle, and Nadia packed a go bag of medical supplies.
"So... are you and Tech... a thing?" Crosshair awkwardly asked as he tried to make conversation.
"What?" Nadia blinked in surprise. "Why would you ask that?"
"Well, he obviously likes you," Crosshair shrugged.
Nadia did a double take. "He does? And why is it obvious?"
Crosshair sighed. "Well I didn't see this coming."
"You didn't see what coming?" Nadia demanded. "What is happening?"
"I just didn't think you'd be so... naive about this," Crosshair told her. "He's not discrete about it at all. I mean, did you see him blushing when he had to take his shirt off for you to stitch him up?"
"That was just him being embarrassed about needing stitches," Nadia waved her hand dismissively.
"Uh huh," Crosshair hummed. "And what about the nickname? You know it means-"
"Who's the Jedi?" Wrecker loudly asked.
"General Allie," Hunter told him.
"I met her once," Nadia remarked. "She's nice."
"My scanners are having difficulties picking up her signal," Tech reported as he steered. "There appears to be a storm."
"Will we be able to land?" Hunter asked.
Tech mulled it over for a moment before answering, "I should be able to, but it won't be pleasant. Buckle in."
The ship hurtled through the clouds, and Tech blindly piloted, as the storm was so thick he couldn't see anything. Nadia tucked her medical bag under the only available seat and plopped down onto it.
The safety buckle was broken.
Nadia's eyes shot open as fear shot through her chest.
"Nadia, strap in!" Hunter yelled as he buckled himself in.
"I can't!" Nadia shouted, fingers fumbling with the buckle. "What do I do?"
"No time! Just hold on!" Crosshair yelled.
Then they hit the ground.
The snow cushioned the ship for the most part, so they didn't just blow up immediately. Everyone hesitantly opened their eyes and checked to make sure they were all okay.
"That's... not good," Wrecker cringed once he spotted Nadia.
Nadia stared down at her leg in horror.
It was bent at an odd angle, and as the adrenaline wore off, the pain made its debut.
"Maker that hurts!" Nadia yelped. "And why the kriff is that buckle broken?"
"Someone get the medic!" Wrecker panicked.
"I am the medic!" Nadia glowered at him.
"What do we do?" Crosshair asked.
"I'll just... set the leg," Nadia took a deep breath.
Tech handed her the medical bag. "Will you be able to come with us to General Allie's location with an injured leg?"
"Maybe?" Nadia said as she placed her hands on her knee. "It's just a dislocated kneecap."
She took a deep breath before snapping it into place, letting out a short scream.
Tech wordlessly handed her the painkillers. She gulped it down and rested her head against the wall.
"Can you continue? The General might be injured," Hunter questioned.
"I- I shouldn't walk, but I can push through it," Nadia said and tried to stand, but Texh pushed her back down.
"I have an idea. A small group of us locates General Allie while the others remain behind. Nadia would be in the second group. Once she's located, the first group will decide whether Nadia needs to hurry to the location to provide medical treatment," Tech planned.
"Sounds like a plan. Who's staying behind with Nadia?" Hunter frowned.
Everyone looked at Tech.
"Why me?" Tech demanded.
"Vaabir vi linibar at rejorhaa'ir gar ibac?" Crosshair asked, crossing his arms.
Tech scowled. "I suppose not, but I would like it to be out on record that I'm against this idiotic plan of yours. Nothing will happen."
"Guys?" Nadia interrupted.
"What?" Hunter asked.
"This is the painkiller for Wrecker," Nadia told them, holding up the bottle Tech had handed her. "It's too strong for someone of my size."
"Ah, kark," Crosshair cursed.
"We're running out of time, we need to find the general," Hunter sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Tech, you're staying behind with Nadia until we say whether we need her or not."
"Understood," Tech nodded.
Crosshair, Wrecker, and Hunter filed out, immediately shivering in the cold.
"Teeeeech, you have a funny name," Nadia said, giggling hysterically.
