Welcome to the first Halloween story of 2023!
I think I'll do this yearly, depending on it people would be interested in such a thing.
I've been planning to do Halloween stories in October since when I joined wattpad, and I'm so happy it's finally time!
Tw: Blood, horror.
Omega yawned as she made her way down the stairs, the wood creaking under her. She shivered as her feet made contact with the cold floor at the bottom of the staircase.
She slowly walked to the kitchen, her eyelids nearly shut, because it was the middle of the night and she was exhausted.
She grabbed a glass and poured herself some water, taking a sip before startling, seeing a figure make its way towards her.
Crosshair stepped into the kitchen, poured himself a glass of water, not even sparing her a glance.
"Crosshair? What are you doing up in the middle of the night?" Omega asked, putting her glass down on the counter.
Crosshair ignored her and exited the kitchen, disappearing into the shadows. Omega's face screwed up in confusion as she tried to see where he had gone, before shrugging and going up the stairs, returning to her room.
She wondered what had made him so grumpy as she closed her eyes and fell back asleep.
🎃 👻 🎃
Omega heard a bang, and her eyes flew open. She pushed the blankets off her body and wandered down the stairs, looking around with bleary eyes.
She saw Hunter, sitting at the table, staring at the wall.
"Hunter?" Omega softly said. "What are you doing up so late?"
He didn't respond, making Omega step forward in concern.
"Hunter?" Omega said again, putting her hand on his arm. "Are you okay?"
He finally looked at her. "Yes. I'm fine."
His voice was hollow, and the hair on the back of her neck stood up for some reason.
She returned to her room, casting an unsure look over her shoulder at him.
🎃 👻 🎃
Omega woke at midnight, for the third time in a row, though she wasn't sure what had woken her this time.
She wasn't thirsty, and she hadn't heard any strange noises, so there was no reason for her to be up.
Yet she couldn't shake the feeling that she needed to go downstairs.
She sighed and made her way down the stairs again, noticing Wrecker with his back to her. She approached him and gently tapped his shoulder. "Wrecker? Are you having trouble sleeping?"
He faced her, both eyes white.
She flinched away, and he blinked, revealing one good eye and one bad eye.
She must have been seeing things.
It was way too late to be up.
"I- I'm going to go back to bed now," Omega told him, her heart hammering in her chest. "Good night."
