"I wish I never met you!"

it all happened in a flash. vada stood there, eyes wide and teary as you shouted and screamed.

she didn't even know what she did.

-------------------

"vada, c'mon honey, you need to get out of the house for once." patricia, her mom, spoke softly, caressing vada's hair.

patricia had been there for vada, but her presence wasn't all that helpful. amelia was also there, trying to crack little jokes that spared vada only a few minutes of bliss.

mia had tried reaching out to vada, asking her if she'd want to hang out, trying to help vada get her mind off of you.

vada just stared off into her room, barely noticing the soft touches of her mother.
"i can't," she mumbled, "i don't want to."

"you have to. i know she isn't here, but that doesn't mean you can't leave the room for once." patricia spoke, looking vada in the eyes.

"have you even spoke to nick or mia at all?"

"no.."

--------

"and so, kian tried to kick the ball, but it just went over the fence and hit me in the head!" amelia rambled off, walking around the swing set vada was sat on.

"and the teacher didn't even say anything! like c'mon, atleast be good at your job."

"amelia, i'm sure he's a good teacher." vada shrugged, coming to a stop on the swings, getting off and heading inside, leaving a opened mouthed amelia.

"oh c'mon!" amelia waved her arms around, looking around - trying to see if there was atleast one person who agreed. (there was no-one.)

--------

you wanna hang? - mia

i cant - vada

why not? - mia

i cant txt rn - vada

ok - mia

vada sat back on her bed, turning her phone off.

it's not like she wanted to shut her friends out. but she kinda had to. she did not want to be a burden and cry like a baby in front of them. she just didn't want to be vunerable.

'i wonder what she's doing right now.'

--------

the park was eerily quiet, filled with the annoying rumble of a squeaky chain, or the faint sound of the creaking wooden boards that sat upon the slide sets.

there sat vada and mia, underneath said wooden boards, smoking a newly rolled joint.

"and.. she just, like, left! and she was such a bitch about it."

"oh.." mia sighed. "that is a bitchy move...." pause. "did she tell you why she left?"

"hmm.. no." she huffed out, passing the joint to mia, before sitting up and grabbing the pack of cheetos she'd packed from her bag.

"i guess... she just.." sigh. "left?.. maybe she was just tired. tired of me."

"did you do something before that?"

"no. nada."

mia looked at vada with a face of sympathy. "oh vada..."

there was a soft sniffle from vada, and another before she broke down into guttural sobs that she'd kept down for the past week.
