Chapter Five

M/n wasted no time in leaving the room. As soon as he'd pulled Frisk to the other side of the door, he was smacked in the face with a sudden blast of coldness. He looked down. Snow?

He felt Frisk tug on his hand. M/n looked down.

"What's wrong, Frisk?" He spoke quietly.

Frisk simply pointed to an odd looking bush the was a few feet away from them. He looked to where they were pointing and tilted his head. M/n took a step closer to see if there was anything special about the snow covered bush.

* ...!?

* There's a camera hidden in the bushes.

M/n chose to walk away. He didn't know if the camera worked or not, but he wasn't gonna take any chances. He held onto Frisk's hand as he made his way down the snowy path. He stepped over a branch that was FAR too heavy to break. M/n walked past a particularly large tree--

snap.

He whipped his head around and looked at the branch. It was snapped in two. M/n looked at Frisk, who once again, seemed completely unfazed. M/n scoffed and began walking down the path again. At one point, he could've sworn he heard footsteps that weren't his or Frisk's. M/n came to a stop in front of some kind of- what was that thing? A bridge??

Before he could look at Frisk or say anything, someone with a smooth and oddly soothing voice spoke from behind them.

"Human. Don't you know how to greet a new pal?" Words were said slowly, as if the person was trying to sound intimidating. "Turn around and shake my hand."

Slowly, M/n turned around. He faced the person, who he couldn't see clearly. He held his hand out and M/n slowly grabbed it so he could shake it. As soon as he did, there was a loud fart noise.

"Heheh.. the old whoopee cushion in the hand trick. It's ALWAYS funny."

M/n snickered quietly and Frisk shook their head in annoyance.

"Anyways, you two are humans, right? That's hilarious. I'm Sans. Sans the skeleton." Sans introduced himself, a lazy but somehow sleazy grin on his face. "I'm actually supposed to be on watch for humans right now. But... y'know... I don't really care about capturing anybody."

Capturing? M/n raised an eyebrow.

"Now my brother, Papyrus... he's a human-hunting FANATIC." Not a word Sans was saying made it sound like his brother was dangerous. "Hey, actually, I think that's him over there. I have an idea. Go through this gate thingy. Yeah. Go right right through. My bro made the bars too wide to stop anyone."

Frisk walked in front of M/n, and Sans walked behind him. They walked through the too-wide gate and stopped by two oddly conveniently shaped lamps.

"Quick, behind those conveniently-shaped lamps."

No sooner did they hide behind the lamps, did a much taller skeleton dressed in a cool looking outfit walk over.

"Sup, bro?"

"YOU KNOW WHAT 'SUP,' BROTHER!" Papyrus spoke in a loud, confident voice that was laced with irritation. "IT'S BEEN EIGHT DAYS AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T... RECALIBRATED. YOUR. PUZZLES! YOU JUST HANG AROUND OUTSIDE YOUR STATION! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING?!?"

"Staring at these lamps. They're really cool. Do you wanna look?" Sans motioned his skull towards said lamps.

Papyrus groaned and began stomping his foot. "NO!! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT!!WHAT IF A HUMAN COMES THROUGH HERE!?! I WANT TO BE READY!!! I WILL BE THE ONE! I MUST BE THE ONE!"
