A Bit Odd

Chapter Three

M/n had deemed the shiny things as SAVES. They reminded him of such things from silly little video games. Not long after he had saved, Frisk came over and did the same. Then they grabbed his hand and pulled him into a small room above the current.

Inside this room was a small pillar with a bowl of candy in it. Frisk signed something, telling M/n to take some. He grinned in response and took one.

* You took a piece of candy.

M/n hadn't seen the small sign that said 'take one.' He shrugged and took another.

* You took more candy.
* How disgusting..

M/n raised an eyebrow. Why did taking more than one candy have to be such a big deal? He rolled his eyes and took another piece.

* You take another piece.
* You feel like the scum of the earth...

At this, M/n looked back at Frisk. They had a stupid grin on their face as they motioned for him to try and take one more. He groaned and faced the bowl of candy again, reaching out to grab one.

* You took too much too fast.
* The candy spills onto the floor.
* Look at what you've done.

With a sarcastic laugh, M/n turns back to his sibling and crossed his arms.

"Very funny, Frisk."

They flashed him a fake innocent smile and held their hand out. Of course. M/n rolled his eyes and dropped the small handful of candies into their hand. Frisk quickly signed a thank you and shoved the sweets into their pocket before leaving the room.

M/n followed them. That question he had earlier still lingered in his mind. Hesitantly, as he trailed behind them, he spoke the unasked.

"Why does it seem like you know what to do?" M/n was severely confused. "You're acting a bit odd."

Frisk didn't give him a clear answer. They simply shrugged and signed "don't let your CURIOSITY get the best of you. You'll figure it out."

"Gee, thanks for the answer." When Frisk signed a you're welcome, he added, "I said with heavy sarcasm."

M/n walked a bit faster, trying to leave the room before Frisk for once. Right before he could go through the doorway, the BATTLE menu flashed into view.

* Froggit hopped close!

M/n thought for a moment. Maybe he should try being nice to the Froggit, like how Frisk was earlier. He selected ACT and chose to compliment the monster.

* Froggit didn't understand what you said, but was flattered anyway.

M/n could have sworn that he saw the frog monster blush. It sent a rather easy and short attack of... were those flies? Makes sense. M/n easily dodged them.

* Froggit seems reluctant to fight you.

Well, that was simple. With a small smile, M/n selected MERCY and he spared the monster.

* YOU WON!
* You earned 0 EXP and 2 gold.

M/n hummed and began walking again. He had no idea what the hell he was doing, or WHERE the hell he was going. But he must have been doing something right? As he and Frisk continued moving through the ruins, M/n didn't take notice to the oddly scuffed up part of the floor. He walked over it, only for a hole to appear. M/n shouted a curse when he fell, making red leaves go flying. Frisk fell shortly after, but unlike him, they landed on their feet.

"Of course you would land gracefully."

After this, Frisk had taken the lead again. They led him through the room, and into another big one. There was puzzle.
