𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐲𝐧𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐭 outside on a bench of a massive compound, several different men sitting beside her. She watches intuitively as footmen chain walkers to the fence.

A tough looking guy with a burn on one side of his face strode towards the group, frowning. His blonde locks blocked her view to see his eyes.

"Alright." He said in a raspy voice, Jaylynn knew he wasn't Negan, he was much to lean and didn't have an aura of power around him. She imagined Negan to be taller, giving off the cliché "bad boy vibes" with maybe a beard. She imagined Negan to have a bit of swagger to him, like the mustached man, whom Jaylynn came acquainted with as Simon.

"We have two week probation here at the Sanctuary," the Scar-faced man said, starting to pace back and forth. "You keep your head down, follow the rules, become apart of society. Then you get an interview, and you're either in or on the fence." He didn't need to add any more to his sentence for the recruits to understand failing the probation meant unpleasantness.

"We can either do this the easy way or the hard way. Either way you're gonna break, and you're gonna become apart of Negan's group, either as a Savoir or as a walker. It really just depends on you." Scar-face remarks, one of the men beside Jaylynn letting out a small sob.

"Just kill me now." He says softly, Jaylynn sent him a confused look, was he not gonna at least try? It doesn't seem that hard, you just gotta follow the rules and impress the boss man himself. Jaylynn saw this to be one of the easiest things she's ever done, she couldn't see how these other fucker's were just whiling to give up so damn easily. Jaylynn watches as Scar-face grabs up the crying man and pushes him out of the room. The tension within the place was heightened by like 50%.

Jaylynn's brain ran all over the place, trying to think of a good way to get on the bosses good side, her goal was to become as powerful as possible here without sucking the bosses dick for the position.

She watches as Scar-face walks back out of the compound, his face stone cold. Jaylynn wandered how he got the scar, it didn't seem like something you'd get from escaping a fire, maybe someone did it to him?

"You'll be sleeping in the barracks while you wait to be interview, you'll be fed three times a day, when you get a job that is if you make it past the two week probation, you'll work towards points to buy your own food and personal necessities." The blonde remark's, motioning for everyone to stand up and follow him.

The day grew into night and Jaylynn found herself standing outside, listening to the walker's moan and groan against the fence. Some of them falling apart trying to get to the lackeys that continued to do their job. The door behind Jaylynn opened and closed abruptly, Jay turns to see Scar-face leaning against the wall, a cigarette in his mouth.

"You're the new recruit right?" He questions, his voice still just as raspy as it was earlier. Jaylynn nods, turning back to look at the fences.

"Why don't you just put melted metal on their heads? You do have a furnace right? That's how you got that burn?" Jaylynn turns back to the blonde, he clenches his jaw at the question. "You got an extra?" She motioned towards the cigarette, he let out a sharp breath, grabbing out the pack and handing her one. Jaylynn mutters a quick thank you as he lights it for her.

"How'd you know about the burn?" The blonde questions, Jaylynn shrugs, inhaling the thick gray smock, feeling it burn as it goes into her lungs.

"If you listen really closely, you'll hear that people talk, I didn't even have to ask any questions as I was exploring today, and there were quit a few people with the same burn as you, I just put two and two together." Jaylynn explains, blowing the smoke out of her mouth as she talks. Just walking around the Sanctuary gave Jaylynn a pretty good idea about who this Negan was. There were quit a few children running around, they seemed happy, she talked to a few of the mother's and all they had to say about Negan was how much of a good man he was. But Jaylynn noticed that some of the people had the burn, she guessed that it must have just been a way of punishment. Every good leader has to be able to punish people other wise people will walk all over them, Jaylynn admired Negan for this.

"I'll relay the idea to Negan about the walker's." Scar-face remark's as he throw's the remaining of his cigarette on the ground and steps on it.

"I'm Jaylynn." She introduces herself.

"Dwight."

Life at the Sanctuary was definitely interesting. Jaylynn watched and listened, soaking up as much information as she possible could. If she wanted to make a name for herself here, she had to be useful, and everyone knows that knowledge is power in a place like this, and in a new world such as this.

Jaylynn avoided her fellow recruits, idiots are seemingly depressed with the situation at hand. She didn't know how long they'd last, and honestly didn't care.

The only thing Jaylynn could think about was meeting Negan, she wanted to see him, even just catch a glimpse of him. People talk about him like he's a god that they respected and feared. For the most part, the inhabitants that work and live in the Sanctuary seem to appreciative of him. They say he saved them. And then there were those that didn't really speak of him. But either way his reputation preserves him.

The bartering system seems pretty straightforward, everyone works for points, and then those points are used as a currency, like money. The recruits weren't given any points until after the interview, but they were given food, which was delicious. But Jaylynn craved more.

The first on her list are cigarettes. She knew it was a bad idea to ask for one the night before, she hadn't smoked in almost a whole year, but fuck the world. She knew she'd need to acquire more points or give up some food, and she wasn't willing to do that. So she needs to find some where to work.

Jaylynn wandered through the marketplace, easily the biggest area in the whole compound. There were stands of essentials, like toiletries and over the counter medication. There were a few women selling herbal remedies, and fresh herbs.

Jaylynn found herself wondering towards the kitchen area, in her past life, the kitchen was like her second home, she to live and breath working in a kitchen.

Walking into the place, she noticed a few people carrying crates full with canned goods, more than likely from the communities that the Saviors collect from.

"Need a hand?" Jay asks an older women who seemed to be the head chef.

"Of fuckin' course I need a hand." The older land remark's harshly, Jaylynn smiles at how salty the women seems and takes the two crates from her hands, the women studies Jay for a second before pointing towards a counter across the room. "Who are you?"

"I'm a recruit on probation, and I'm looking for a job cause I'm in need for points." Jaylynn says simply, the older women let out a laugh as she follows Jaylynn over to the counter.

"You can't make any points until you are interviewed and that is if you can even get in at all." The older women remark's.

"Then I work for you and you buy me the shit I want." Jaylynn fixes the problem.

"Can you even cook?"

"If I tell you I was a chef in my past life would you believe me?"

"No, but I'll think about it."
