16 years later

"Dad Lacey hit Laney again. She hit her so hard that she made her cry." My dear sweet son of nine years of age, Belgium, angrily informs me with some attitude.

I drop a displeased sigh from my lips as I stare down at my wayward son of only nine. He looks so much like his biological father, Jay, that it is almost scary.

"Alright Belgium, let's go straighten those two out, shall we?" I offer to him with another sigh.

While me and my young son start to make our way into the backyard to investigate the problem, I can't help but to reflect on our lives up until this very moment.

Lanesra has absolutely grown into a very beautiful young woman who seems to always grab others guy's attention.

It worries to me no end,  how much she is able to attract all of these young scoundrels that, to me, aren't worth the very ground that she walks upon.

Luckily for us, she just ignores them all, so far.

Her main interest that keeps her fully occupied lately is basically that of training in the field along with her fathers.

Her tough exterior for being able to  handle fighting amongst her peers, is stifling.

But I much prefer her wanting to be training along with us than out trying to attract the opposite sex at such a young age.

As Belgium and I draw nearer to Lacey and Laney I notice that they seem to be past their little dispute from earlier. They both are now playing calmly on the backyard swing set like they haven't got a single care in the world.

Although. As I stepped up to them I can automatically see the tear tracks that are present on Laneys face.

"Hey sweet girls. Belgium told me that you two have been fighting. Is that true?" I question them both gently.

Laney does her best to try to avoid any eye contact with me while her sister Lacey just stares up at me defiantly.

Even though they are both twins, they are as different as night and day.

Where Laney is somewhat shy and always tries to keep the peace, Lacey is a far different story.

Lacey is what some would call calculating. If there is some way that she can get away with whatever she is doing at the time. She will determinedly find a way to do just that.

For, six year olds, they are very spirited.

"What happened Lacey? Did you actually hit your sister?" I asked my precocious daughter while I try to search for any outward markings left behind on Laney worriedly.
