Chapter 1: The Sully's Arrival

3rd Person POV:

The Sully family arrived at the Metkayina clan hoping for sanctuary. As they walked closer Metkayina people began surrounding them. Neteyem and Lo'ak greeted "I see you" when two boys walked in front of them only to be met with scoffs and laughs.

The two boys began to circle the family, making fun of their features. Lo'ak looked down as Jake looked tired and held tuk, knowing she felt the most uncomfortable. He was about to speak and ask where the Tashik of their clan was when two girls came out of the water. The first girl looked at them with a friendly smile that had Lo'ak mesmerized. He said "hey" only for the girl to giggle and blush causing him to smile. The second had Jake mezmorized. He was in awe of the second girl. She was beautiful. She looked around his age, long black curly hair with shells in them that looked unique and hard to find. She looked strong, but also seemed as if she had a protective side. She had an aura of authority and protectiveness around her.

Jake's POV:

As I looked at the older woman who looked around my age I could do nothing but be in awe of her. She was beautiful. I attempted to smile at her as I said "I see you". I frowned when I was met with a glare. Not only at me but at Lo'ak who couldn't stop staring at the younger girl. My thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of Ronal and Tonowari. The first seemed annoyed and pissed that we were here. I walked to her and her mate, greeting "I see you".

"Why do you come to us, Jake Sully?" Tonowari asked

"We seek ukturu" I said trying my best to be calm.

"Ukturu" Ronal asked in disbelief as she looked toward her mate

Ronal then went around showing my children's differences. I stepped in when she said they had demon blood and people hissed at them.

"Look, Look" I said, holding up my five-fingered hand. "I was of the sky people but I learned the ways of Navi and Eywa. We can learn here." I said tired

"Ukturu has been asked" I said standing by family hoping they would let us stay

"Ukturu has been asked, Jake Sully and his family will stay with us. Treat them as your brothers and sisters and teach them our ways for they are not one of us. It will be like a newborn when you first teach it to swim." Tonowari said.

I let out a sigh of relief, hugging tuk closer to me.

"Say thank you" I said as my family did so, but from the corner of my eyes I could see kiri roll her eyes.

"My daughters Tyseria and Lana will show you where to stay along with my son Anoung"

"But dad how is tha-"

"It has been decided," Tonowari said, ending the conversation as Aonung looked to the ground.

"Come," said Tysteria "Me and Lana will show you where you'll be staying".

So that's her name, I thought as we followed them to our new home. We arrived at a Mauri that seemed about medium size but comfortable. We put our stuff down and turned to Tyseria and Lana.

"Thank you guys" I said with gratitude

"No problem. Tomorrow I will come get your children so I can teach them our ways and my sister will teach you." Tyseria spoke with happiness.

I looked at her sister and was about to speak but before I could she spoke.

"Tomorrow I will come get you an hour after the sun rises. Do not be asleep and be prepared. I will not go easy on you just because you're new. Now eat and sleep as we have a big day tomorrow." Lana spoke and then walked out not sparing him a glance.

Jake stood there in shock. Despite being cold to him, he couldn't help but want to be closer to her. He snapped out his shock and cooked some fish he was given by Tyseria. He and his family ate and soon went to sleep.

Lana's POV:

I couldn't decide what to think. I didn't like that these strangers were living with us. What would they need a sanctuary for? Jake Sully had said he was not at war but was that untrue? Not only that but he seemed to be staring at me quite a bit which I matched with a glare. He seemed strong but also protective of his family as I was of mine. I went to my hut to sleep in preparation for tomorrow when I would help train Jake with Tonowari on our customs. I arrived at my Mauri next to my family's, ate, and went to my hammock to sleep. My last thought was of a blue Navi with a starting problem.
