Lana's POV:

After mating and becoming one, me and Jake headed back to the clan, wanting to tell the children of what happened. Our smiles quickly became frowns when we heard yelling. It was coming from my parents Mauri. We walked in to see my father and mother around the Sully kid's and my brother and sister.

"What is going on?" I asked

"Lo'ak bonded with Palkayan." My eyes widened as did Jakes. I had told him the stories of Palkayan.

"Sit down," My father said. I sat down pulling Jake down with me knowing my father didn't like to repeat himself

"I SAID SIT DOWN!" My father yelled as the kid flinched and sat down.

He then told the story of Palkayan and how he was the killer. Unfortunately Lo'ak interrupted telling him it was untrue. I sighed knowing this wouldn't end well

"Lo'ak enough. Let's go" Jake spoke as he grabbed the back of Lo'ak's neck dragging him back to their Mauri.

I followed them inside listening to Jake scold Lo'ak. I was going to leave not wanting to listen any more until I heard my mate say something that made me sick to my stomach.

"You have brought shame to our family Lo'ak" Jake said as Lo'ak had tears in his eyes and was about to leave but I yelled.

"How dare you say that to him!" I yelled as the Sully kid's turned to me.

"What?" asked Jake. I wanted to calm down but I couldn't.

"How could you say that Jake! Lo'ak is your son! NOT YOUR SOLDIER! Not only did you jump to conclusions without asking his side, you told he brought shame to his family. He did not do anything of the sort! I have known Palkayan from when I was a child. He was accused wrongfully and outcasted. I'm proud of Lo'ak for bonding with him. He chose to see past the killer tulkun that every Navi called and saw him as and made a friend!"

I told Jake who looked down in guilt and shame. I looked to the others to see Kiri, Neteyem, and Tuk shocked. I looked to Lo'ak who looked at me thankfully, tears welling in his eyes.

"I cannot believe you Jake. I truly thought you were better." I said as I turned to Lo'ak

"Lo'ak go to my Mauri. You will sleep there tonight and tomorrow you may go see Palkayan." I told him as he nodded and left. I turned to the kids hugging them.

"I will see you tomorrow, children." I said hugging them tighter as they did the same.

I looked to Jake to see him looking at me with his ears down wanting to come near me. I shook my head and watched as a tear fell down his cheek. I walked out of their Mauri, wanting nothing more to comfort my mate, but knowing Lo'ak was hurting because of his father's words.

Jake's POV:

I watched as my mate left. A tear going down my cheek. The kid's looked at me in shock as I never cried.

"I'm sorry kids, I love you guys so much and I'm sorry if I'm too harsh on you." I told them as they all hugged me

"It's ok dad. Just say this to Lo'ak. He's the one hurting" I nodded hugging them tighter before letting go

"I will."

"Dad, why were you crying?" Tuk asked me as I sighed and spoke again.

"I mated with Lana" I told them as they beamed

"That's amazing! But wait... why isn't she here with us?"

"She seems really angry and sad at what I said to Lo'ak. God! She's never going to want to be near me again" I said

The kids all hugged me before sitting all of us down.

"You won't lose her dad, she's just mad. Talk to her. She knows how you say things in the heat of the moment and she still mated with you. She loves you" Kiri told me

"You're right. Tomorrow I'll apologize to Lo'ak and to Lana...I love you kids, and I am so proud of you guys" I told them as we hugged again

"We love you too dad"
