After thinking about how he and San found the pair when they came back from the student center, it was quite obvious what they had been up to.
In fact, Yeosang mentally slapped himself for not realizing it.
But he didn't want it to be true.
Yeosang's hopes that maybe it was something else drove itself to the ground after he mentioned to Hongjoong that Seonghwa's blog birthday was coming up next week.
Hongjoong had pestered him about what Seonghwa wanted to do for it and what he liked.
Yeosang answered his questions as best as he could, but there was a weird feeling that he couldn't shake off.
Sure, Seonghwa and Hongjoong's love life was none of Yeosang's business, but why were they keeping it a secret from their close friends if they were happily together?
Yeosang knew that Seonghwa had a thing for Hongjoong.
He figured his hyung would have squealed to him by now.
Something's not right.
San received a text from Yeosang one day after he finished his last class.
From: Yeo-Booty, 6:00pm
Hey San, are you busy right now? I wanna talk to you.
San frowned.
Yeosang never sent him texts so boring and lifeless.
They were usually filled with a ridiculous amount of emojis so he could piss San off.
Something was wrong.
To: Yeo-Booty, 6:02pm
Sure. What's up?
From: Yeo-Booty, 6:03pm
Actually, can you meet me at my dorm? If you're able to.
To: Yeo-Booty, 6:03pm
On my way
San never skated so fast in his life.
He leaned forward on his skateboard to gain even more speed.
Yeosang seemed very troubled.
If there was anything he could do to help, he would.
Yeosang was waiting for San outside University Hall.
San kicked up his skateboard and jogged over to him.
"What's wrong?" San asked as soon as he sat down.
"There's something going on between Hongjoong and Seonghwa." Yeosang murmured.
It was more of a statement than a question.
San exhaled.
He knew Yeosang would figure it out.
"Yes."
"And Hongjoong's straight."
"The only person who knows for certain is Hongjoong himself." San replied solemnly.
"Hyung..." Yeosang bit his lip. "I'm worried about Seonghwa. When he likes someone, he is completely devoted. His ex was closeted. And as soon as someone caught them together, he broke his heart. Seonghwa didn't cry, but I knew he was absolutely devastated. It broke my heart too, seeing him suffer through something so cruel."
San nodded, remembering that Seonghwa had shared part of the story with his ex at the beginning of the year.
"I don't want that to happen again." Yeosang clenched his fists. "Hongjoong has been very secretive and gets antsy whenever Seonghwa is mentioned. It's like he's keeping Seonghwa a secret. Hongjoong better know what he's getting himself into. I swear if he hurts Seonghwa, I'll-"
San cupped Yeosang's face, staring into his eyes intently.
Yeosang gasped slightly at the gesture, caught off guard.
San then wrapped his arms around the other man and pulled him into a comforting hug.
Yeosang was surprised, but welcomed the embrace.
"I know you're worried about Seonghwa." San whispered. "You're very protective of him, and I admire your sensitivity. You're a wonderful friend to him. Unfortunately, trying to get involved in... whatever the hell those two idiots are doing, would do more harm than good. If indeed Hongjoong isn't straight, we can't force him out of the closet. It's not our place to meddle. It's their life, Yeosangie. All we can do is support them from the sidelines until they confide in us."
Yeosang sighed in defeat, resting his head on San's shoulder. "I know. It's just that, everything can go to shit so quickly. I'm experiencing it now. Wendy and I have been having a lot of problems lately. We've been fighting more, and it just sucks ass. She's the sweetest girl I've ever met. But... she wants something from me that she knows I'm not ready to give her right now. I'm afraid Seonghwa wants the same thing from Hongjoong."
"And what thing is that?" San inquired, stroking Yeosang's back soothingly.
"Love."
