...but you weren't even listening
"Can you guys please shut the fuck up? I'm almost done cooking the pasta and in a second I'm gonna throw it out" I yelled at the boys as they waited around the kitchen whining that they were hungry. They had just gotten back from practice and of course we're starving which is why I had cooked so that it would be done fairly soon for them.
"Lily today was a tough practice we're literally dying" Ethan complained. I'm sure it was a hard one since homecoming was literally this weekend and it was a huge game with a big turnout usually.
"I know I know" I sighed. "It's all done, let me drain the pasta then have at it" I poured the pasta in a strainer and let the hungry boys go grab their food which they did. I always went last because I definitely didn't eat as much as them and I wanted them to get their plates filled first.
"We love You and this is amazing" Rutger groaned as all of them stuffed their faces while I sat beside Luke. The rest of them nodded in agreement with Rutger's statement.
"Love you guys too" I ended up making them some spaghetti and sauce with some meatballs and sausage. Not a hard meal to make. "So homecoming this weekend. What's the schedule? Both official and unofficial?" I asked. I was so excited. This was gonna be my first big school event and apparently it was a really fun one. And not to mention Jack would be here.
I did what he asked, I haven't contacted him once even though I found myself staring at his contact a few times I stayed strong. After that night, he stayed with me and held me while I slept. And the next day when I left, he gave me a big hug and told me he was gonna miss me. That was the last I heard from him. Today was Wednesday, tomorrow was Thursday and started Homecoming weekend. He would be here tomorrow. I couldn't help but feel nervous but I was mainly buzzing with excitement.
"Ok full schedule: Thursday we have open practice then at night we're going to a Crate Race at Football house with the dance and cheer teams, your on our team. Friday is our hockey game then we are hosting here. Saturday is football game so pregame here, dage, then game, then party at football house." Mark stated and my jaw dropped.
"I'm sorry, who's taking me to the ER when I get alcohol poisoning?" I asked in disbelief.
"Jack" Luke spoke up from beside me while all the guys laughed. My cheeks flushed and I hit Luke's shoulder.
"Shut up" Luke knew what happened. He was my best friend so he was gonna hear about it whether he wanted to or not. He was gagging as I told him but at the end he was like 'I literally knew it'. He was the best because he can separate me and Jack and be there for the both of us differently.
"No but seriously the hangovers are gonna be insane" Ethan said. "A crate race before a game day...who the hell came up with that?"
"Facts" Duker added. "Atleast we don't play until 7:30 pm so we can get it together by then. I'm buying liquid IV tomorrow and pedialyte, like legit stocking up on that shit for us"
"Good idea Dukes" Ethan nodded. "So when we host we need to decide on a juice"
"Easy, sprite, Hawaiian Punch, and vodka. The usual frat house punch" I told them. It was easy, didn't taste horrible, and got you drunk.
"Yeah honestly I agree" Luke said. "I'm not drinking that anyway, I'm gonna have my own shit" everyone nodded in agreement.
"What's the crate race? Anyone know what we have to drink? And how many on a team." Who the hell let the men be in charge?
"Our team is broken into 2 teams, so 16 for a crate. I have no idea what the others are. JJ sent me our lists and that was that. I believe for 16 people it's gonna be a brick of beer, a bottle of vodka, a wine bag, a twea bag, and 4 tall boys." Mark read from his phone at the text JJ sent him. JJ was the quarterback for the football team and I guess he was in charge of this whole thing.
"I'm sorry what?" I nearly choked on my food as he read that to me. Honestly, everyone nearly choked weCA on their food hearing that shit.
"Dear Lord" Adam muttered.
"There's 16 of you on a team and your all sharing. There's no pregaming either, it'll get you drunk but you guys will be fine" Mark shrugged. "It's homecoming, go big or go home pussies"
"Im 5'4 and don't weigh that much Mark. I'm not gonna survive." I put my head in my hands dreading this stupid crate race tomorrow. I'm glad I don't have class on Friday and if I did, I'd be skipping that shit. "There's a led spa like 10 minutes away in so about to go get an IV drip"
"Dramatic much?" Ethan scoffed. "You'll be fine. The biggest question is theme. What's the theme for the race because I know there has to be one"
"True" I agreed. Theme would be a need to know thing so I could have a good outfit.
"I heard denim theme being thrown around" Mark answered. "But not set in stone, I also heard country theme"
"Country!" Seamus yelled. "So much cooler"
"Denim and country are legit so similar" I would wear something denim for country anyway so like why not just go country? Boys. That's why. Boys are planning this.
Either way I was terrified for my liver this weekend but Mark was right, go big or go home.

I skipped my two classes the next day cleaning the house entirely and food shopping for the boys and our guests. Our guests being Quinn and the love of my life. They weren't gonna get here until later while the guys were at practice and I would be at practice as well. Luke gave them the code to get in.
I currently sat in said open practice, talking to Rutger's girlfriend and her friend. They're names were Madison and Layla, they were super dope and so laid back. Layla I think had a thing for Mark but she was on the shy side. "It's a million degrees out so you think sitting in here feels good but I'm freezing" Madison shivered. She was in a tank top and shorts so I'm sure she was legit frozen.
"That's why I packed sweat pants" I bragged. I knew how cold it was gonna feel so the sweatpants came in handy. "You ladies ready to take care of us later?" The football house was strict on their guest list so only team members- aside from me, Jack, and Quinn- were allowed to go. Not significant others. I thought it was dumb but football was weird.
"Jealous we're not going but also not because you guys are gonna be smashed" Madison laughed.
"Seriously, watch that hangover for tomorrow" Layla agreed.
"I know I know" we continued small talk and doing school work until it was time to meet the boys outside the locker room.
The longer we waited the more anxious I got knowing what was waiting for me at home. It's been weeks. Weeks since I last saw him or spoken to him, I have no idea what to expect or how to act. Last I saw him he took my virginity. Literally. This was gonna be an interesting night.
