After finishing her meal, Y/N dutifully began cleaning up the kitchen. Her movements were efficient and purposeful, and she found herself humming a soft, soothing tune to herself as she worked. The kitchen soon sparkled with cleanliness, and Y/N hung up her apron with a sense of accomplishment. She switched off all the lights, leaving the kitchen in peaceful darkness.
With her tasks complete, Y/N made her way to Obanai's room, the place where she had been sleeping during her stay. She quietly entered the room, not wanting to disturb Obanai, who was already asleep. In the gentle glow of the moonlight filtering through the window, she settled into bed, hoping for a restful night.
However, as she drifted into slumber, her dreams took a dark turn.
In the nightmare, Y/N found herself in the headquarters, a place she had grown somewhat accustomed to. But the setting was vastly different from her reality. Everyone, including the Hashira, was busy fighting Muzan, the most powerful demon of all. The atmosphere was filled with chaos and desperation.
In this nightmare, Y/N wasn't a Hashira or a fighter. She was merely a bystander, trying to escape the mayhem that surrounded her. Obanai's words echoed in her mind, reminding her to stay safe and out of harm's way.
But as she attempted to flee, she saw something that shattered her heart. There, in the midst of the battle, lay Obanai, lifeless and broken. The scene was a cruel, nightmarish tableau, and the weight of despair crushed Y/N's spirit.
In a panic, Y/N shot up in bed, her breathing erratic, and tears streaming down her face. She was no longer in the nightmare, but the vividness of the image lingered in her mind. Her trembling form loomed next to Obanai, who was now awake, his eyes filled with concern.
"Y/N," he murmured softly, his voice laced with sleepiness. He reached out and gently wiped away her tears. "What's wrong? Did you have a bad dream?"
Y/N couldn't speak, her heart still racing from the nightmare. She nodded, unable to find the words to describe the horrors she had witnessed in her sleep. She buried her face in Obanai's chest, seeking comfort and solace in his presence.
Obanai wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. He understood that nightmares could be haunting, even for someone as strong as Y/N. He stroked her hair soothingly, his touch a reassuring presence in the dark.
"You're safe now," he whispered, his voice a gentle caress. "I'm here with you, and nothing will harm you. It was just a dream, Y/N. I'm here to protect you."
Y/N clung to him, her tears gradually subsiding. In the quiet of the night, she found solace in Obanai's arms, reassured by his unwavering presence. The nightmare had shaken her, but with Obanai by her side, she knew she could face any darkness that tried to intrude upon their world.
