After being released from Shinobu's care, Y/N found herself confined to the mansion, a prisoner of her own weakened body. Obanai, ever the protective partner, insisted she stay home while he continued his relentless pursuit of demons. The days were long and quiet, and Y/N yearned for some semblance of normalcy.
However, amidst the monotony of her confinement, there was a glimmer of joy – she could plan their wedding. With a few months until the big day, she had a vision of how she wanted the ceremony to be, and she spent her days meticulously planning every detail.
One afternoon, Y/N decided to take a risk. Feeling slightly better, she decided to sneak out of the mansion and venture into town. She knew it was a gamble, but she was determined to find the perfect wedding dress in person.
The sun was starting to set as she explored the town's quaint shops. She was filled with excitement and anticipation, imagining herself walking down the aisle in a stunning gown. However, the exhaustion began to take its toll on her weakened body.
As Y/N turned to head back home, she stumbled, her legs giving way beneath her. But before she could hit the ground, strong arms caught her. She looked up and saw Obanai, his expression a mix of concern and frustration.
"Damn it, why are you out here? You know you're sick, Y/N!" he scolded, his voice carrying enough force to draw the attention of onlookers.
"I... I wanted to help plan our wedding," Y/N replied in a weak voice, her eyes fixed on the beautiful wedding dress displayed in a nearby store window.
Obanai's frustration momentarily waned as he gazed at the dress. It was a breathtaking sight, a harmonious blend of Western and Japanese styles, just like their love. But he couldn't let himself get swept away by the idea, not when Y/N was still so ill.
With a heavy sigh, he gently scooped her up in his arms. "You can plan our wedding from the safety of our home," he murmured softly.
Y/N offered a weak smile before exhaustion overcame her, and she fell into a brief, peaceful slumber in Obanai's arms. Without hesitation, he made his way to the store, purchasing the wedding dress that had captured Y/N's heart.
As he carried her back to the Butterfly Mansion, he couldn't help but think about the future they were building together. Their love had weathered so many storms, and he was determined to make their wedding day a symbol of their unwavering commitment to each other.
