Y/N couldn't ignore the address her mother had slipped into her coat pocket during their chance encounter. It felt like a door had been opened to a past she thought she'd left behind, and she was determined to confront her parents and seek answers.

Sitting at home with the address in her hand, she looked over at Obanai, who was sitting nearby, engrossed in a book. She cleared her throat, getting his attention. "Obanai, I've made up my mind. I need to go see my parents."

Obanai set aside his book, concern in his eyes. "Are you sure about this, Y/N? I'll go with you, of course, but it's a decision that should be entirely yours."

Y/N nodded, a determined glint in her eyes. "I am sure. I want to know why they left me, why they've resurfaced now, and then I can finally put this behind me."

With Obanai by her side, they set off to the address her mother had provided. As they arrived at her parents' house, Y/N felt a strange mix of anxiety and anticipation. The home was familiar yet foreign, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she didn't quite belong there.

Her parents, looking older than she remembered, opened the door and welcomed them inside. The atmosphere was tense, and Y/N's heart raced. She wasted no time and began pressing for answers, her voice trembling with emotion. "Why did you leave me? Why now, after all these years?"

Her parents hesitated, and the conversation quickly escalated into a heated argument. Y/N's emotions bubbled over, and she felt her voice rise as she confronted them with years of pent-up hurt and resentment.

Obanai, seeing how distressed Y/N was becoming, couldn't contain his anger any longer. He stood up, his voice thundering through the room. "Enough of this! You have no right to reappear in her life now and cause her more pain. She's had a life without you, a life filled with love and people who care for her."

Y/N, tears streaming down her face, spoke up, her voice quivering yet determined. "You're right, Obanai. I've had a wonderful life without you both. And I'm going to continue that life with the person I love, my fiancé, and my family."

With those words, Y/N turned away from her parents, leaving the past behind her. Obanai took her hand, and together, they walked out of her parents' house.

As they walked away, Y/N felt a sense of closure and relief. She had confronted her past, stood up for herself, and made a choice for her future. She had her family now, made up of friends who loved and supported her, and a loving fiancé who stood by her side.

With Obanai's hand tightly in hers, Y/N was confident in her decision and ready to embrace the life she had chosen—a life filled with love, trust, and the promise of a bright future.
