Y/N had carried the weight of her parents' actions and the painful memories of their confrontation with her everywhere she went. It was as if a storm cloud hung over her, casting a shadow on even the brightest moments. Obanai had noticed the change in her demeanor, the subtle signs of sadness, but he couldn't pinpoint the cause.
One evening, as they sat together on their porch, Y/N's eyes welled up with tears. She had tried to be strong, not wanting to burden Obanai with her worries, but it had become too much to bear. She couldn't keep her emotions bottled up any longer.
Obanai looked at her with concern, his eyes soft and filled with love. "Y/N, what's been bothering you lately?" he asked gently.
She hesitated for a moment, her heart pounding in her chest. But she knew she couldn't keep it inside any longer. She took a deep breath and finally spoke, her voice trembling with emotion, "Obanai, there's something I need to tell you. Something my parents said when I went to see them..."
As she recounted the confrontation with her parents and the hurtful things they had said about his past, tears streamed down her cheeks. She tried to hold back her sobs, but the pain was too overwhelming.
Obanai was silent as he listened, his expression growing somber. He hadn't known about her visit to her parents, and the depth of their cruelty stunned him. But he didn't interrupt; he let her share her feelings and fears.
When she finished, she looked at him, her eyes filled with vulnerability. "I didn't want to bring this up to you because I didn't want to remind you of your own painful past," she admitted. "But I can't carry this alone anymore. I feel so hurt and lost, and I don't want to hide anything from you."
Obanai reached out and gently wiped away her tears with his thumb. He then took her hand in his, his grip warm and reassuring. "Y/N," he began, his voice steady, "I want you to know that I trust you completely. I've always known that you accepted me for who I am, scars and all. But I promise you, if there's anything you want to know or share about my past, I'll tell you. You're the most important person in my life, and I want to be open with you."
Y/N nodded, a small smile appearing through her tears. "Thank you, Obanai. I just needed to hear that. I love you so much."
Obanai leaned in and kissed her forehead gently. "I love you too, Y/N. We'll face whatever challenges come our way together, as a team." Their bond felt stronger than ever as they embraced, their hearts connected in their shared commitment to each other.
