First Female {The Maze Runner/Newt FanFiction}

Chapter 3

Newt's POV,

Today I was going to be in charge since Alby going in the maze to retrace Ben's steps. It's early in the morning with everyone still asleep. I'm with Alby and Minho wishing them luck then they run off into the maze. I go off waking everyone. I know exactly how to wake up Forrest. I go to the entrance of the hut that Forrest shares with other gladers.

"Wake up Sleeping Beauty. Time for some work to be done" I say entering.

"Five more minutes" she says in her morning voice.

"Do I need to wake you up like Prince Charming and kiss you?" I suggest cheekily

"Alright! Alright! I'm up! Just don't do that! EVER!" she ask disgusted.

"Remember Alby's gone into the maze so I'm in charge" I remind her before leaving. After breakfast it was time for work. Zart and I were chopping parts of a tree truck then Thomas, Chuck and Forrest come along. Thomas holding a machete since he had to do some work while Chuck was carving something and Forrest just sitting on the fallen tree, Lazy. To be honest with you... I actually like Forrest more then a frienemy. I started having this crush on her after two months she's been here but I know it's not going to work out. It's one of those love hate relationships.

"Hey! How come Alby went in the maze?" Thomas ask starting the conversation.

"Like every other runner! Maping it or mesmerising it" Forrest answered.

"Yeah but why would Alby go in the maze? I mean, He's not a runner!" He ask

"Look things a different now. Alby went in to retrace Ben's steps before sundown. Now look are you gonna help!?" I asked him

"So Albys gonna go back to bens step and th-"

"Alby knows what he's doing alright! He knows better then any of us" I cut him off

"What does that mean?"

"Look! it's like what you've heard alright! That box sends up a new arrival every month and someone had to be first. Someone had to spend a whole month in the glade alone...That was Alby. It couldn't have been easy but when those boys start coming up one after the other he saw the truth and he saw that the most important thing is that we all have each other. Cus we're all in this together." I explain while molti-tasking. I return back to work then Thomas decides to finally do his jobs here.

"It's actually a good thing Alby knows what he does. If he hadn't made that rule to not mess around with me I would be a mother of 20 annoying children" Forrest explains.

"And I've only been here for like what three months"

"Six" I correct her. She looks at me abit concerned.

"Forrest and Newt. Are you guys Dating?" Thomas ask. Me and Forrest look at each other then Zart, Chuck, Forrest and me start bursting out into laughter like he said a really funny joke. He looks at us like we're insane.

"Oh my god! You think we're dating?" Forrest ask with laughter in every word. We all settle down now.

"Well look at this Thomas. There is no bloody way I would date her. Even if she's the last person on earth and we have to repopulate... I would rather get stung by a bloody griever then that!" I explain to him.

"Same here Greenie but I have to tell you a little story about him. When I first came here I ran as well but I then hid in the forest. Gally, Chuck, Minho and Homo had to find me but then I feel a pair of hand on my wa-" he gets cut off by my hand being on her mouth. She's such a loud mouth but I don't understand why I love her. She starts scream but nobody could hear her. It sounded like mumbling. She starts biting my hand now!

"Hey hey hey! No biting no biting!" I scold her.

"It was my waist!" she said quickly. just then it started to rain. We all run under shelter in the Homestad. Thomas start freaking out a little bit

"They should be back by now! What happens when they don't make it?" he ask a little scared.

"They gonna make it" I remind him.

"What happens it they don't?" he ask again moving a bit closer.

"They gonna make it" I remind him again.

"Well... we could look on the bright side that the plants are getting watered" Forrest said randomly like an idiot. I just give her an are-you-that-stupid- face.

"Sorry I spoke" she says to herself but I heard her. The storm goes on for about the rest of the day but it finally stopped. We all wait at the gate for Alby and Minho.

"Can't we send someone after them?" Thomas ask.

"We can't. Its agents the rules. They either make it back or not" Gally answers the question.

"Can't risk losing someone else" I remind of what happened to Ben. After I finished my sentence a gust of wild wind came through blowing in our faces. That wind shows everyone that the doors are about to close and I was right.

"There" Thomas points and then we all hear The sound of Minho. but something wasn't right?

"Wait no! Somethings Wrong" I point out. It looked like Alby was hurt or something. He must of got stung! then all the boys start encouraging Minho to press forward. the doors were closing faster and faster but Minho was slower and slower then Thomas decides to go into the maze. IDIOT! I tried to grab him but no chance. he was a goner. One new Greenie down. he was stuck out there for the night with Minho and Alby. we all start to walks away but chuck speaks up.

"Where are you guys going?!" Chuck ask abit shocked.

"Back to what we were doing earlier" Winston responded.

"You guys aren't jut gonna leave them there?!" he ask in the same tone as before.

"Chuck you know what happens in the maze. No one ever survives a night in the maze" Forrest reminds him.

"And anyways it's the leaders choice if we stay here" she continues then looks at me. it's my turn to decide.

"We'll all stay the night here." I command everyone and they all grab abit of space near the gate sitting or lying down simply just waiting.

-The Next Morning-

The doors open to revile if they made it or not. Everyone gets up to have a look. Nothing.

"See Chuck. No one survives the maze" I say then everyone waking off but then Zart grabs everyone attention. They did make it! Minho and Thomas hold Alby sue porting him. Alby did get stung.

"You guys saw a griever?" Chuck ask

"He didn't  just see one. He killed one!" Minho answers.

"Amazing! How did you do it?" Forrest ask. I get everyone to go back to the Homestad to get down rest for Today work.
