THE LOST RACE

CHAPTER 7: The Dark Prince

In the abandoned town of Kojima stood Miniriathe, a dark lofty manor. It's doors burst open as Ryuutaro barged in. "Ryuutaro-oujisama (Prince Ryuutaro), have you been out, messing with human girls again? If you continue, Toki-Tonosama will not be too pleased." But Ryuutaro just shrugged it off, "You fear my father too much, Mitsuhide."

The young prince went into his room and lain on his bed. His retainer, Mitsuhide followed behind him. "Hey Mitsu, have you even taken a whiff of the scent of a woman...a human woman?" he asked.

"Not intentionally; I didn't like how they smelled. I find their scent rather horrible." The servant replied.

Ryuutaro-oujisama turned about on his bed, bit his lips, took deep a breath, as if tasting every breath of air he takes. "I think all humans smell bad, woman and man alike." continued Mitsuhide.

"Maybe they are not all the same after all. I met this..." mused Ryuutaro but Mitsuhide cut him mid-sentence, "You're father will not like it if you will continue to associate yourself with human girls."

"Just cut it! Damn it...it's always Father this...father that. I already obeyed his order of handling the Oniwaban group. What more in hell does he want from me!?" he exclaimed angrily.

"As the prince of the Night Elves, it is your duty to ensure the Night Elves stay in power. You can do that if you marry the lost princess of the Light Elves. That's as you father pleases." reminded Mitsuhide.

"The princess is L-O-S-T! LOST! Give up already!" whined the prince, "Just leave me alone and let me live my immortally boring life in peace, will you!"

The next morning, Koki-Tonosama arrives at Miniriathe. His son, the crowned prince of the Night Elves meets him in the guest suite. The feudal lord wanted to know how their plan worked out.

"The Igas and the Hokage answered our invitation. However, things didn't really go as planned. An outsider group interfered. All of the Hokage were killed while the Igas were wounded and taken away." reported Ryuutaro.

"Those Shinsengumi people again?" asked Koki. Ryuutaro shook his head. "I'm not sure."

"Then, make sure! When are you going to take the Oniwaban seriously. This group is our key to the humans." exclaimed Koki.

Ryuutaro, had always walked in the shadow of his father. His father his people have high expectations for him. As much as he wanted to break out of it, he can't. "The moment you are born royal, you're immortally bound." he has always thought.

The Feudal Lord wanted to find the lost princess of the Light Elves for he plans on making her his son's wife, and hopefully produce daughters. The union of powerful Night Elves and Light Elves will bring forth a new breed of far more powerful elves. And to have those in their clan will mean that they are unbeatable.

"Father, are you that obsessed with power. You have annihilated the White Elves hundreds of years ago. Humans' don't even know they existed. Our clan is clearly the most powerful. Why else would you be so obsessed on finding the lost princess, if she really does exist?" retorted Ryuutaro.

Koki slapped his own son. "How dare you speak up to me like that!" Koki screamed angrily. It was a strong hit that sent Ryuutaro several feet. "That princess is the only one in the way of our complete dominance. Who knows how much power she has? And I want to have that power!"

"But I don't want it, father." the prince managed to say, as he staggered up, "Face it, you will never find her."

"We have. She just managed to escape." explained Koki

"Yeah...over and over and over again. She has eluded you for the past several hundreds of years." taunted Ryuutaru.

Koki grabbed his own son by the neck. His hands were trembling, as he held his anger and tried so hard to keep himself from squeezing the air out of his son's body. He managed to unclenched of his grip before he can hurt Ryuutaro further.
