 Kristi's POV:

Everything seems to be going good. When someone has a nightmare, I've learned it's usually something that actually happened or is happening. So, I know that they need some comforting. So, I find the person that had the bad dream and try to comfort them and reassure them. Make them feel better. I tell them it'll get better.

Papa still has bad dreams. Almost every night! But he doesn't want me looking at them. So, I don't. It's hard, but I don't look at it. I just look at the moving picture and watch him struggle with his blankets till he wakes up. Whatever he's dreaming about, is most definitely not nothing. I worry about my papa. Something is wrong, but he never tells me what. And I don't want to disobey him and look at his dreams...I sometimes think about the dream he had on the night of my gift ceremony. The first dream I ever saw. He said it was nothing. That it wasn't real...But was he telling me the truth...? Papa would never lie to me. We always tell each other the truth.

"I'm a little worried about him, Delores...What do I do...?" I asked my cousin, one day after lunch.

"I wish I could tell you what to do...But I can't...Because I don't know what to do." she said in her quiet voice.

"Papa won't tell me what's wrong...I can't look at his dreams..." I sighed, feeling tears coming to my eyes. "These past several months I've learned that some nightmares are caused by something that is happening or that has already happened. I'm able to help those people when I see their dreams. But I can't help the one person that really needs it!"

Delores frowned and took me in her arms as I cried on her shoulder. "I'm sure one day everything will be ok...It will all change..."

 "I hope you're right..." I spoke quietly.

And, she was right. I didn't know then, but, one day, things would change. A lot.

 *A Few Days Later*

I was at the park playing with my friend, Andres. He's really nice! Papa likes him too. His parents are nice. Whenever I go to their house, they always give me cookies and milk!

Andres is learning to play a musical instrument, he said. I think he said it was a guitar. I asked him to play me something, but he said maybe when he gets better at it he would. For now, no way. I guess he's really bad at it right now. Well, bad or not I still want to hear him play.

"Higher, papa! We have to beat Andres!" I squealed. Me and Andres were having a swinging contest. Whoever could swing the highest would win. So far, Andres and his mom were winning.

"I'm trying, angel!" papa told me, giving me an extra push. We were in teams. Me and papa and Andres and his mom. Andres' dad was working.

A few minutes later, Andres jumped off his swing, jumping up and down in the air. "Ha! I won!"

"I'm sorry, Kristi," papa said, picking me up off the swing.

"It's ok, papa. I had fun anyway." I smiled and hugged him. Papa set me down and I challenged Andres to a race. "I'll bet I can beat you to the stream and back here."

"Oh, we'll see about that, Kristi!" Andres exclaimed.

"Papa, will you count for us?" I asked, looking up at him.

"Sure," he smiled at us. We got ready and papa began counting. "Ready? 1, 2, 3, GO!"

Andres and I ran as fast as we could. Andres was ahead of me. He was about to win when he slipped and fell. I could've passed him and won, but, I didn't. I helped him up and smiled at him.

"Thanks." he smiled. "I'm still gonna beat you."

"No, you're not!" With that, we started running again.

"And the winner is...." Papa spoke, as we both touched his hands at the same time. "Kristi and Andres! Good job, you two."

 "Thank you, papa!"

 "Thank you, Senor Bruno!"

Andres' mom smiled. "I think it's time to go now, bud. Papa will be almost done with work by now and I need to start dinner."

"Awww! Just one more ride on the slide, mama? Please?" Andres pleaded.

"Please, Senora Alejandra?" I asked, looking up at her.

She sighed, shaking her head. "Alright. Just one. Then we need to go. Ok?"

"Ok, mama! Come on, Kristi!" Andres took my hand and we ran to the slide. I was behind him, holding onto him. "Ready?" he asked me.

"I'm ready!" I told him excitedly.

"Ok! 1, 2, 3, GO!"

We slid down the slide, having fun as we did. When we were done, Andres hugged me goodbye and ran up to Senora Alejandra. We waved to each other and then he left.

"Come on, my angel. Let's go get some ice cream." papa replied, taking my hand.

"Ok, papa," I smiled, walking along with him.

I really love my papa. I hope nothing will ever come between us and he won't ever leave me.
