*Author's Note:
We're nearing the end of this long journey. I will say, I have really enjoyed writing this book. And, for those who enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it, I'm planning a sequel. It wasn't apart of the plan when I began this story, but, I was inspired. And we all know what that means. New story! Hahaha. Well, anyways, I hope you enjoy. Now, onto the chapter!*Kristi's POV:
Today is the day....The day I finally become Andres Garcia's wife...I could hardly believe it...Delores was going to be my maid of honor. Isabella did my hair and makeup. My hair was styled in a half-up like I usually wear, but, instead of the normal bun I wear, it was a braid with tiny white flowers braided into it.
I gazed at myself in the full-length mirror. I had already put on my dress. I felt like bride...It was overwhelming and it felt so surreal...
"Kristi?" Delores' voice brought me out of my thoughts. I turned around and smiled. She was dressed in a dark blue dress. She looked really pretty. Her dark hair was in a low bun.
"Delores! You look stunning!" I declared, smiling brightly at her.
"So do you, prima." Delores smiled at me. At that moment, a knock sounded on the door. Delores opened it. I smiled when I saw papa. He looked handsome. He wore a navy green suit and had pulled back his hair. "You can come in. We're ready." my prima replied.
He nodded, before looking at me. He smiled at me and walked over, taking my hands in his. "I can't believe this day is finally here...You look so beautiful, my angel..."
"Thank you, papa." I smiled at him.
"I have one thing for you, though, before the ceremony." papa replied, taking a small flower patterned box from inside his suit coat. "This belonged to your mama. She told me that it was passed down from generation to generation. I know she would be so proud to see you wear this on your special day."
I took the box from him and opened it. When I did, I gave a small gasp, my eyes wide. Inside, was a headband with white flowers and pearls...It was...beautiful and honestly, just the thing to complete my outfit.
"Oh, papa...It's beautiful! I'd love to wear it." I smiled brightly, hugging him before quickly putting it on with Delores' help. I looked in the full length mirror I was standing in front of. I looked...so pretty...I looked so much like a bride...
"You look like your mama." papa smiled. I looked at him and smiled at him. "I am so proud of you, Kristi. So very proud. I love you, my little girl."
"I love you too, papa..." I smiled, my voice cracking. We hugged each other tight, both of us crying on each other's shoulder.
When we'd finally calmed down and pulled apart, Delores said it was time. I nodded slowly, giving a small, but nervous smile. I felt anxious but excited.
"Hey," my papa said. I looked at him. He gave me a smile as he held my hand. "Everything is going to be fine. I promise. You both love each other. So very much. The love you share...It's special, amazing, and beautiful. I know I've never really experienced this type of love, but I've seen the results. I've seen the magic it can bring. I've seen the beauty of it. When I look at you and Andres, I see a spark in not just your eyes, but his as well. The same spark that Carmen and Juan had. That is how I know this is real. The first time I saw him with you, I knew it was only a matter of time."
I smiled at him. "Gracias, papa...."
"Of course, my sweet girl." he smiled back. "Are you ready?"
I nodded. "I'm ready."
Third Person POV:
The wedding march began to play. The guests all stood up. Andres stood between the pastor and his best man, Mariano Guzman. His eyes were wide when he saw Kristi. Of course to him she was always so beautiful. But today, she somehow looked even more beautiful. He didn't even know that was possible, but here she was.
Kristi and Bruno walked down the aisle. But, it wasn't just them. Juan walked on the other side of Kristi, smiling proudly. No one could see him, obviously. But somehow, Kristi felt that he was there, walking with her down the aisle. When they reached Andres, the father and daughter hugged. Bruno kissed her cheek before sitting down in the front.
"I love you, princess." Juan whispered to Kristi. He then went back to his wife and Pedro, who were watching with proud smiles, from the roof of Casita.
Kristi was a little surprised at the strange words she'd heard in her ear. They didn't come from Bruno, the pastor, or anyone else around her. She then realized, however, they came from Juan.
"Our little girl is all grown up..." Carmen spoke up, as the paster began speaking.
"Si. You should be so proud." Pedro replied.
"We are, senor...We are...Just as you must be of Bruno." Juan nodded.
"I am very proud of my family, Juan. I am very proud of my son and, my granddaughter." Pedro responded.
"We're proud of Bruno as well. It was a long, hard journey for our daughter and for him. But in the end, they made it." Carmen replied.
"I didn't think they would for a while..." Juan remarked.
"Well, it just goes to show you how strong love is. Not just the love between a man and a woman. But the love between a father and his daughter. The bond is unbreakable. When they truly love each other, it never really goes away."
"Carmen is right, Juan. It may seem like it goes away sometimes. But deep down, the love is still there. The bond they once shared is still there, waiting to be mended. And that is what happened to Bruno and Kristi. She realized her mistakes and fixed them." Pedro agreed.
"I guess you both are right. You proved me wrong once again, mi amor." Juan replied, putting his arm around Carmen. "Kristi has gotten her papa back." the man smiled down at his daughter as Andres took his daughter in his arms. The three watched as the two kissed lovingly.
"And now our little girl has found her love..." Carmen smiled, watching as Kristi and Andres walked hand-in-hand up the aisle.
