Bruno's POV:

"Papa, are you sure you don't want to come with us?" Kristi asked me.

It was about time she start heading out for her walk with Andres, but she was asking me, again, if I wanted to come. Now, don't get me wrong. I'd love to. But, I had a feeling tonight was gonna be special and they needed to be alone.

"I'm sure, my angel. I'll come next time, I promise. And, you can tell me all about it when you come back. It'll be just like I was there." I smiled at her. "Now, you had better get going. You don't want to keep Andres waiting."

"Alright papa..." she sighed, turning to walk away.

"Hey!" I stopped her, giving a small smirk. She looked at me. "Don't I get a hug or something?" she laughed and hugged me goodbye.

"I love you, papa..." she whispered.

"I love you too, Kristi..." With that, she left, smiling and waving back at me. I waved back to her, smiling. When she was out of sight, I suddenly felt a burst of pain in my head. "Gah!" I exclaimed, holding onto the wall for support. Oh please not again....This one was bad, but I've had worse.

 "Tio Bruno??"

 "Bruno??"

Oh crud. Of course. At that moment, I was being held up by my sister and nephew.

"Tio, are you ok? What's wrong?" Camilo asked, frowning. Pepa looked worried, a cloud threatened to form above her head.

"I'm alright, Camilo...I was just a little dizzy." I said, hoping they'd believe it.

"Is that why you cried out in pain?" Pepa asked, unamused and not buying my excuse.

"Um...I hit my arm against the wall?" The two continued to look at me like they didn't believe a word of what I was saying. I groaned and winced. I just wanted to go up to my room right now. The pain in my head right now, isn't helping my case.

"Pepa! I need your help in here! Antonio scraped his knee!" Julietta called out.

"Oh my! Coming, Julietta! Come, Camilo. Perhaps you can help." Camilo nodded, looking at me before following her out of the room. But before she left, Pepa turned to me. "We're not done with this conversation, brother." With that, she disappeared into the other room.

I sighed heavily. Oh man......I can be pretty good at hiding this sometimes. But now, my sister and nephew have stumbled upon it. I slowly turned around to go to my tower when I caught sight of Delores.

"I know about it, tio. I've known since you came back from behind the walls. I hear you groan and cry out in pain." she said in her quiet voice, a serious expression on her face. "Why haven't you told anyone? Don't you think we can help you or something?"

I sighed. "Delores, it's not that at all. This isn't something that can be helped. Julietta's food won't cure it. I haven't told anyone because I didn't want anyone worrying or treating me with special care. I'm not fragile. I won't break with the slightest touch."

"I know you aren't, Tio Bruno. But don't you think your family ought to know? What about Kristi...? Don't you think she'd be hurt if she found out you were keeping another secret from her?" Delores asked, her expression softening a little, her arms still crossed. I closed my eyes, groaning. She had a point.

"Yea...I guess....I'll tell her. Just...in my own time..."

"And the rest of the family?" she questioned. "Do you want me to tell them?"

"Why not...?" I shook my head with a shrug. "This was not apart of the plan.."

"And what was that plan exactly, tio? Keep the secret till you die?"
