Third Person POV:
Well, as you can imagine, things were really tense between Bruno and Kristi. Kristi never spoke one word to him. Sometimes he'd try to talk to her, but she never listened to him. The family noticed it, and thought it strange. Whenever they asked them about it, however, they always said that nothing was wrong. That they were just getting used to things. Delores, however, knew what was really going on. She knew what really happened. She had been with Mariano at the time, but she heard everything clearly.
Delores' POV:
I was walking in the park, trying to figure out what I should do. I love my cousin and my uncle. But, I don't know if I can stand up to Kristi and tell her I know. That she was wrong.
"Delores?" I looked up to see Andres walking over. I was sitting on a bench in the park.
"Oh, hello, Andres. How are you?" I smiled at him.
"I'm good. What are you doing? I thought Kristi said you were going to meet up with Mariano again."
"I was just taking a walk. Doing some thinking. I'm supposed to meet Mariano a little later."
"What are you thinking about?"
I looked away a moment. "Perhaps Andres can help..." I thought before turning back to the young man. "Several days ago, I was spending some time with Mariano when I heard something back at Casita. A conversation between Tio Bruno and Kristi..."
Andres gave a scoff. "That's not so bad. They're father and daughter. And they were really close. Why do you say it like a bad thing?"
"Because after Tio Bruno told her that he adopted her when she was a year old, she exploded. She didn't let him speak. She yelled at him." Andres' eyes were wide as I told him everything I heard.
"Kristi....She really said all that...?" Andres asked in shock, sitting down on the bench beside me.
"I'm afraid so....Tio Bruno....He was so devastated...I don't think I ever heard him cry so hard. Mariano had to comfort me! I didn't tell him what was wrong, but he knows that something is up." I said softly, frowning.
"I just can't believe she actually told him she hated him....Or even said any of that other stuff!" he shook his head. "It's not that I don't believe you or trust you, Delores. But it's just..."
"I know...I know...It's hard to imagine. I don't blame you." I sighed, looking down.
"What do we do..? I mean, we can't just let them continue this way. I thought things were a little tense between them...I just never thought this was the reason...I mean, she was tense when we found him!" Andres declared.
"Well, I really don't know. I don't like it anymore than you do. And as for her being tense when you found him, she was probably a little mad. And, it came out during the fight..." I said slowly.
"Maybe we can talk to them?"
"Maybe. But would Kristi listen? Tio Bruno tries to talk to her but she never listens. And you know? Every night I see him go to her room. He always says, 'Good night, angel. I love you.' And then he leaves."
"Now that's sad." Andres remarked. I nodded in agreement. "She might listen, I don't know. I mean she's stubborn sometimes. All I know is if we don't say something, this isn't going to end well. For either one of them. I love Kristi and I have grown to really respect and care for Senor Bruno. I know she was hurt bad, but, she needs to know that she was wrong."
I nodded slowly. "You are right, Andres...I'll talk to her. Thank you."
"No problem. I'd better get going. I'm supposed to be on my way home." Andres laughed. "Mama's grown to expect me late getting home. She doesn't mind too much. But, I try to be on time."
I chuckled. "I understand. Adios, Andres."
"Adios, Delores!" With that, he waved and walked away.
I sighed as I watched him leave. "He's right. Someone needs to talk to her. This is hurting Tio Bruno...This can't keep going."
