"Really?" Mila straight faced me walking in my new apartment
I got a 3 bedroom so the twins would have they own rooms, Hassan and Mila can find room at they momma house
"What's wrong?" I closed my front door
"You actually got an apartment, y'all are so extra." She shook her head
"It's hard trying to raise yo parents to do right." She fake cried and I chuckled
"Raise yo momma to do right." I said to myself because I wasn't finna badmouth her mother in front her
"Is y'all getting a divorce?" She asked and I shook my head no
"Don't wanna go through all of that, and it's gonna take like a year." I said
"You right." She nodded looking around
"Is y'all doing 50/50?" She asked
"50/50? They old enough to decide where they wanna be." I chucked
"I wanna be wit them all the time but that ain't realistic. Kari prolly gon be over here more though because y'all momma be riding him." I shdugged
"She didn't want him or Hassan to grow up and be in gangs getting shot." She said
"Me too but Ima boy, her doing that only gon make him rebel." I said
"I can't believe y'all really took as far as moving out, did you even try sleeping on the couch?" She asked and I raised my eyebrows
"I pay for the damn house, I'm not sleeping on no damn couch." I said
"Speaking of, Ma gonna be paying for it now?" She asked
"No, I'm still her husband and Ima handle my duties." I said
"So you going to paying for that mortgage and this rent?" She furrowed her eyebrows
"Mila, you don't know what love is right now. When you with someone for almost 23 years you don't do that, not saying that she don't got it but I'm not even finna try to adjust her lifestyle. That ain't right." I ran my hand down my face
"Well, it's nice. I hope y'all can fix this." She said
I hope so too
"Mufuckas grow apart, I'm about to go pick up your siblings though." I said and we left at the same time
I went to the gas station and got some gas then went to they momma house, I unlocked the door with my key
"Don't just be walking in like that." Essex said
"Essex, this my house." I said
"Now you gonna throw it in my face every chance that you get? For all that, I woulda been the one to move." She said even though I ain't even mean it like that
