While she poured out her heart to him and told him the decision to leave the city and leave him in peace , hidden in the corner of her heart, there was a light hope that he might interrupt, that he would stop her departure with his words or actions.

In that tense moment, she noticed a change in his demeanor. The fiery anger that had consumed him had calmed, leaving behind a sense of calm. However, an air of uncertainty still lingered between them. She couldn't help but wonder what his decision would be. Would he let her go, or would he find a way to stop her?

"You're not going anywhere," he finally spoke, his voice calm yet firm.

Startled, she faced him, her heart pounding in her chest. "Why?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Why won't you let me go? It would be easier for both of us."

"You're going home with me, and that's final. My parents believe this child is ours, and their happiness means the world to me. And I can't rob them of their happiness of becoming grandparents once again. I won't let them down because of my younger brother's foolishness". He said his voice non threatening but scary

He continued "Plus, you can't simply leave without me. I'm willing to go with you if you want to go somewhere, but the idea of you leaving this city is out of the question. And now I am saying I won't leave you or your side, whether you agree or not." His voice calm but cold

Her feelings were mixed, a blend of relief and sigh. On one hand, she welcomed his support during this time. On the other hand, a part of her still wanted to argue from him to let her go but she lacked the strength for it.

Then, his tone grew cold as he declared, "And don't assume that just because he's my brother, I'll let him run from his responsibility. He will have to face the consequences. He will need to make amends for what he did to you and to my parents. He has a lot to answer for."

Desperation and anxiety filled her voice as she pleaded, "Please don't inform him. Please don't let him know about this child. I'm begging you."

He looked puzzled as he asked, "Why don't you want him to know? Why don't you want him to bear the consequences for his actions, something he is responsible for".

Her voice cracked as she tried to explain, "Because seeing him again will break me. Because I can't bear to face him, to relive everything he did to me. I'm already dealing with so much, including fighting with you. But I can't handle seeing him. I'll do whatever you ask, even come back with you. Just please, forget about him. Please, I'm asking this one thing of you. I won't ever ask for anything else."

His eyes softened for a moment, and he nodded slowly. "Alright, I won't inform him. But know this, his actions will not go unpunished."

A wave of relief washed over her, but before she could fully process it, he added, "Now, get ready quickly. We're leaving for home," he instructed hurriedly before turning to leave, the door closing behind him with a decisive click.
