His POV

The soft afternoon sunlight filtered through the window, casting a gentle glow on the office walls. It was a silent Saturday, and he had arrived at the office long before anyone else, even before the cleaners had begun their day. Hours had passed as he sat in the same chair, his eyes fixed on the computer screen. As he tried to focus on the important document before him, reading and analyzing it again and again attempting to remove out the persistent thoughts of one person that kept intruding his mind. And he was sick with himself due to his inability to focus and that he was not strong enough to remove the constant thoughts of her from his mind.

Frustration had settled deep within him, and in a moment of irritation, he slammed shut his laptop. And suddenly his eyes shifted to a small picture of his late wife on his desk. For a tender moment, the turmoil in his mind and heart stilled and he found peace and remembered how everything would have been easy and soft if all that had happened in his life was hadn't occurred, but soon, the peace he felt was again replaced with the chaotic and non escapable thoughts returned with even greater force. He felt a intense tiredness, as his soul was very tired of all the events. He wasn't at peace. His mind and heart both at chaos at every second.

In an attempt to escape the chaos and frustration, he had chosen to immerse himself in work, to avoid her at all costs. Yet, this strategy had only served to increase the ache in his heart, a pain born from living apart from her. His attempts to find peace in the four walls of the office had failed, leaving him in a state of constant unrest. The inner turmoil had reached a point where peace seemed like a distant, unreachable dream, and his heart remained in a perpetual state of ache.

He was aware of the reasons behind his emotions, understanding the deep-seated feelings that clawed at his heart. However, instead of confronting these emotions and sharing his struggles with her, he opted for the seemingly easier path. Little did he realize that this choice, though it might have seemed simpler, only intensified his suffering. The pain he bore was undeniable, whether he chose to acknowledge it or not.

But today, he was done punishing himself. He was done being restricting himself to spend hours and hours in his office in between these four wall which did nothing but intensified his suffering and loneliness.

In his heart, he knew he could no longer evade the inevitable - the return to his home, to his family, and most importantly, to her.

The thought of facing her, the woman he cherished, filled him with a strange blend of dread and longing. Yet, he understood that he couldn't continue this self-imposed isolation, that the time had come to confront the truth he had been running from.

He decided to start from today and let the things go it the way it wanted to and to not disturb whatever the destiny had planned.
